What if we had the capability to collectively rate games, say like they do at RottenTomatoes.com (http://RottenTomatoes.com)? Perhaps allowing members who regularly contribute for a period of time (60-90 days?) to be able to give up to for or five stars --or some other type of rating system-- to new games?

The ratings could appear on their own page somewhere on the site or, like RottenTomatoes, in a bar on the side of the screen. Only the top 10 rated games would appear. Doable? :?:

Its doable.. It will definitely take some work though..

Could you throw a couple screen shots up, of specifically what you had conceptualized? :ugeek:

I like this idea! Especially since the ratings would be coming from I people I know and trust!

im thinking a rating system that includes. Replayability, Graphics, Plot/storyline, Fun factor..Smoke if you have a copy of Game informer just something alongf those lines and also include a place for comments from us. Great idea

Sorry it took so long to get back. I was out of town the last couple of days.

What I had in mind is similar to what you see on the side of the screen at http://www.rottentomatoes.com/. Another option would be similar to the ranking system they have here: http://www.ign.com/index/reviews.html

Instead of "stars" (as in "5 star rating", "3.5 star rating"), I think a neat idea would be rating by the number of "bullets". Maybe actually have small clip of bullets (up to 5), and the score would blacken in each bullet accordingly. That is to say that if we rated a game at about 3.5, then logically 3 and 1/2 bullets are colored in black.

Sorry, but I never was that graphically inclined. Perhaps some of the designers can whip up something better than what I have in mind. Here's an original pic I nabbed from the internet:

Here's something along the lines of what I have in mind for a 3.5 rated game:

I love this idea, and the bulets are perfect. My suggestion is to ditch the 1/2 bullet idea. Just a thought.

Fair enough. Sounds like a plan.

and whoever rates a particular game should add to the rating a picture of what branch they are a part of or were part of... like if i rated a game i would put a picture of a damage controlman or a ship, same goes for Marines, Army, Coast Guard and Air Force

I like it! :D I put in a review of Assassin's Creed 2 for a test. This is right on par with what I had in mind. Can't wait to see where the finished product goes.

You asked for it, we delivered.
The Game Rating & Ranking site is live. We have also incorporated the old games page that showed who had what game.

Can we get Battlefield 1942 changed to Battlefield 1943 under the rankings? I don't know who has "1942", but I know a few of us have "1943". I just noticed nobody rated it. Thanks.
