With our experience we will own the gaming world with this baby! But i suspect its a piece of shit gadget :) .

A head shot isn't a head shot if you didn't pull an actual trigger to deliver the bullet, right? (No!) Right! This fully-functioning controller that looks just like a real assault rifle will help enhance all of your illusory battles.

The rifle, which connects wirelessly to the PS3 via USB dongle, has all the buttons found on a regular six-axis controller, including d-pad, start and select buttons, and clickable thumb sticks. If that kinda ruins the illusion for you, ignore all those and just jam on that trigger, which is mapped to the R1 button. The gun also packs a speaker for getting in-game sound effects all up in your face

The controller's manufacturer, CTA, says the gun brings "never-before [seen] realism to first-person shooter games," which makes you ponder just how real you want your first-person shooters to be. Better than a kid going out and buying a real gun, anyway! Shipping August 2 for $65 at [Amazon]

Cool concept but I think it will be a fail. You still are controlling the aiming reticle with the sticks. The only thing this gives you is a trigger? Am I missing something? It isn't like a wii remote where the reticle is controlled by the remote position. So all you end up with is a big ps3 remote that looks like an AR. :?

Ironhide, that is what it sounds like to me. Probably make most people play worse then they already do. Shooting games like Cod WaW where fun for me on the Wii but this would probably be much different.

If it only had one stick and that was to move this would be awesome!! The thumbstick to aim is lame and should be in the rifle then they would have a worth while product. Right now I just can't see this being that much better other than looking kind of cool.

would be cool if you could point at the screen to aim, would be very cool.

Would be cool if the integrated ps move with itYes...that would be awesome. Then MAYBE I would do alot better at shooting games. The problem I have is the quickness of the movement with the regular controls. I try to adjust then but, the are never right for me. If the PS Move was integrated in this then it would be alot better for me.

Vet, I am not sure if the ps move can keep up with your cat like reflexes?
I know what you are saying. I have a hard time finding the sweet spot also. MAG I was able to dial it in pretty well, but BC2 doesn't seem to have the same tweaking ability.

remember i called the toy a piece of shit it was an FYI post. Eventually someone will make something that is usable and plays on your real reaction time. Technology in a practical and affordable sense isnt there yet.

That is a EPIC FAIL! People can use a controller a lot better cause that's what we are all used to. now if just by pointing it at the screen and shooting it, and it shoots where you point, that'd be cool, but it doesn't. you gotta use both analog sticks... LAME

Now if we have some programmers that could make that work with the PS eye and have it to where you aim with the rifle epic win!!!

that right there is key. once the move drops there will likely be tons of accessories that come out from third party companies just like the infinity billion wii remote attachments. they don't actually do anything, they're just a plastic shell that houses the remote to look and feel like something different.

As this product is now, you don't even have to point the rifle at the screen. and watching some videos you see just that. you could be sitting in a chair with the barrel resting on your knee and it still functions as if you were playing along by pointing the thing at your screen. Now add in the ability to slide a move controller in the front (since these companies likely won't get Sony's blessing to build the move tech themselves) and now you have something more fun and realistic.

it may look a bit silly at first but i imagine in time the design of these move shells will get better. Since Sony already showed off this at E3:

I imagine it won't be long before we see something along these lines:

Not sure what approach Kinect will take but you can be sure they'll be trying to come up with something
