An easy way to figure the new members is to click on the "Members" button next to your "Logout" button, and the newest members are always at the last pages, that's how I find out who's new! :D :D

you could also sort that list by post, because invariably, new members have the least amount of posts. :shock: :D

It is pretty ridiculous when they are so many new members that I have NO clue about. :twisted: When there was a Introduction Section everyone could check in there and see the new members as they post their Intro.

If the intro thread was setup on the private side of the forums, then new members could not post until verified? Vet poses a good point, but I know Smoke was pretty adamant about not having one, so whatever works. ;)

I like the idea of bringing the intro section back. I understand why it was done away with, but I also agree that putting it on the members only part of the site would possibly solve those problems. I'd take that a step further and say that most of our postings should be private. I think we sometimes forget that anything that isn't in Captain's Cabin is public on the world wide web for all to see.

I agree with everyone that said they want the intros back but on the member only side. I thought it was nice to share a piece of myself with the clan when I joined, and I enjoyed reading the intros for those that joined before and after me. Made me feel very welcome. Also made me feel more comfortable about posting in the forums (not that I'm super shy or anything :? )

It was voted and felt the introductions forum cluttered up the process and made the membership process difficult..

If enough people want it back, it shall be back. But as it stands right now, we have like 60+ forums. I'm really trying to decrease the forums not increase them, unless there is a legitimately good reason for another forum, or enough demand.

Plus, if it's a stickied thread, in a member's only section, it wouldn't clutter membership at all, but rather be a way to say "Hey, I just joined." Then mention beer and women?

That sounds like that would work just have a rolling thread of everyones introductions.

Hopefully Pakman will jump in this topic. I for one think it was a great forum, especially for the reasons Bullet lined out. This also gives new members a reason to participate in the forums, and not feel shy about being here.

I liked having it in its own forum, so that way I knew who I had replied to and who I had not. This worked well during our recruitment rush, but since it has slowed down, a topic would work also.
