(CBS/AP) A U.S. Army skydiver hit a snag during a pre-game jump Tuesday night at the Rangers' Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. The skydiver was left dangling from a flagpole after his parachute got entangled on the windy evening.

The Rangers said the unidentified jumper was uninjured after he unhooked himself from the chute and dropped a few feet to a work platform on top of the scoreboard, the highest point of the stadium. The jumper could been seen walking away while his parachute whipped in the wind for several more minutes before being removed by stadium workers, who arrived quickly.

On "The Early Show," CBS News correspondent Jeff Glor reported the skydiver was among several members the U.S. Army Parchute Team known as the Golden Knights.

The rest of the skydivers in the display landed on the field.

Probably just like joining the USAF Thunderbirds or USN/USMC Blue Angels. You have to be in that particular career field and request to join that unit/squadron. I assume at least. :D

I had a couple Golden Knights in my BNCOC class. Any MOS can join. You have to have a civillian master parachuteist liscense (you can get that in the military if you're a cool guy that does HALO jumps all the time). Then all you have to do is try out and see if you make the team. From there you can try for the Tandem team (strap a president to your chest and jump) or the competetive team (the guy I knew wasn't in either). It's not easy to get in, and even harder to stay in. On par with making a marksmanship team, or a drill team. You need like 250 solo free fall jumps to try out i think, and that costs lots of dollars to get ($25-$50 a jump if you own and pack your own chute and go with a group)

Basically this. The Army doesn't like it when you screw up in public. Especially when you're supposed to be a demonstration of Army skill.

It doesn't matter if your on that level or some (no offence) weekend warrior washing machine mechanic. you mess up you get slapped.

Oh, I agree completely. Its just that as you get more exposure and prestige, the slap tends to get stronger/more painful.
