Darth Vader Costume from Original Star Wars Film Up for Sale

Darth Vader and "The Force" can be with you - for a price. Christie's auction house says it is selling (http://www.thirdage.com/news/darth-vader-costume-original-star-wars-film-sale_10-27-2010#) an original Darth Vader costume from the "Star Wars" movie franchise. The jet-black helmet, mask and armor worn by the intergalactic villain are expected to sell for between 160,000 pounds and 230,000 pounds ($250,000 and $365,000) at a sale of pop culture memorabilia next month.

Christie's said Wednesday that the costume is thought to have been made for "The Empire Strikes Back," the second film in George Lucas's (http://www.thirdage.com/news/darth-vader-costume-original-star-wars-film-sale_10-27-2010#) sci-fi series, released in 1980.

Christie's did not name the owner, identified only as an American private collector.
The sale takes place Nov. 25 in London.

Question on a different subject than this thread... How come every time you quote like that I can't see it since it's white text on a light colored quote box? In order for me to actually see it I have to highlight everything from there like I wanted to copy your quote and paste it elsewhere.

Good point. It didn't look that way when I previewed it. I guess if you quote something, it's best to set the font to white.

It always looks like black text on an eggshell background to me. Unless you fixed it in the between time since you posted and I replied.

I want that Vader Suit! I am betting that it goes way way over what they are thinking that it is going to go for. 500,000- 1.1 Mil is what I'm thinkin.
