Why can't I approve incoming friend requests?

I have a friend request that I have been trying to approve. The approve option is selected and then I click on save changes but it doesn't do anything. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?

Did you check the little box on their picture? You have to select them before you can approve them (Even if they are the only one there)
