Posting video

Ok I used to know how to post videos like youtube just fine, now not so much. Since the move to this site it's been a pain, the buttons above the text box went away. If I still remember the code for youtube video correctly it is "."

1) Say I wanted to post this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rPFvLUWkzs
2) You used to hit the youtube button and get this:
3) Paste the part after V=: 6rPFvLUWkzs
I have also tried like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rPFvLUWkzs
None of those work obviously.

If not what am I doing wrong? Maybe we can inform other member how to get videos up too...

Db,

1st off you click on the link that looks like the film strip (if you mouse over it, it should pop up with "Insert Video")

After that you, copy (the entire URL), paste and click Ok... that should insert the actual video into the forums.

DON'T use the Insert Link (the button that looks like a world) if you want the video to show up inside your post.

Hope this is clear enough for you... kinda hard to explain without being able to show the actual button...

Had to do some digging but here it is. If you want to post a video from youtube on the forums.

You just click on the film strip and copy and paste the link into the box ...thats what I did

i was thinking, if it's possible, can we switch it to where the wysiwyg editor is the default one since many people are unaware that it's even an option? then if they feel it's too much they can go in and select the simple editor option instead


another thing involving video, i know the current video embedding option allows for youtube and a few other popular video sites to be used, but can we get a full list of the sites that work?

one more thing, is there a downside to allowing html in posts? i ask only because i know pretty much every video you come across these days have a button to click that will give you embedding code and that could be helpful in posting videos from sites that aren't on the current list. I've come across videos in the past from places like g4 and the playstation blog that would have been cool to share if i could
