I was actually thinking about playing casually for awhile to check out the expansion.
Do we have any other wowheads around here? :D I play on Skullcrusher.:redface:

Not that it matters much but i used to play till Burning Crusade came out. The new expansion does sound quite interesring if u can find some1 to lvl with.
Woulda been good on Saturday when I started my 10 day free trial. 2 days, and I'm lvl 20.. They made it much easier to level up... It was very fast, and easy. :D

I do play DDO with friends of occasion. you can play it for FREE, and the server I'm on is Orion. Let me know if you decide to get it, I'll give you a guild Inv, cause I'm the leader.

holy crap dude.. SO MUCH... Its almost like a completely different game.
Quests yield a ton more experience at low levels. (I think my shaman is less then 6 hours old, and already lvl 24)
obviously - a bunch more areas, Zones which were previously lvl 50+ areas, are now starter areas.
There's a rocket train that takes you around north of Orgrimmar which is pretty cool
you can ride your flying mount in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.
Talents are completely redone, and you can swap between specs depending on what your doing.
The UI is so much better, and the quest helper actually points you to where you need to go.
There is so much more, but this is what i've noticed on my new toon. I haven't even touched my lvl 80 DK. (Other then to xfer some lootz to my Goblin.)
What else has changed in the expansion?

OH and on a side note... I think playing wOw over vent with lady would be hilarious with the shenanigans she would come up with over a cake easy game like wOw... so ya Lady you should at least try it...

I used to play WoW pretty hardcore back before TBC. I got massively burned out though, and cancelled and re-upped for each expansion. Haven't yet bought cataclysm, but I'm seriously considering DCUO.

I'll bank you can make 30 levels in 10 days. minimum. I'm at level 28 now, and I have 2 more days left. and I'm not exactly what you would call a power player. 2-3 hours a day.. give or take.

The task of going through it and saving all the stuff I need is tedious and I'm not entriely sure how to do the re-install either, cos last time I did one it was more complicated than I imagined it would be. :confused:

I don't think you can with DC. I didn't go ahead and buy the game, since only wicked and me were playing.
I got to lvl 32 in day days wicked. let me know how you do..
On a good note, The Old Republic is due out spring time...

I went ahead and paid for the 30 day to see if we drum up any more people to play. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my goblin anymore, until I buy cata, and I don't wanna buy it, unless there's gonna be atleast 5-10 of us playing.
I got a lvl 20 warlock, I started working on a while ago, I can probably play him for awhile, maybe melt some faces. ;)

I went with Cataclysm because I've played wow through the other 3 expansions. Cata will let you play goblins. :D

According to sources quoted by MCV.com (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/42719/Old-Republic-out-in-September), Star Wars: The Old Republic (http://g4tv.com/games/pc/61502/star-wars-the-old-republic/) is coming out a bit later than originally thought. MCV's "development sources" say that SW: TOR's release date is in September. While no official release date has ever been announced, comments made by EA head John Riccitiello suggested a Spring 2011 release date was likely.
No matter when The Old Republic hits stores, there's a lot riding on this game. It's a game release on a massive scale -- the scale of a combination of developer's-developer Bioware and the Star Wars Universe in a persistent game can not be overstated. So there's a lot on the positive side of the ledger for SW: TOR... but there are some pretty huge negatives as well.
Challenged facing The Old Republic:
There's the cost of developing a full-scale MMO. Supposedly, over 300 million bucks have already been spent on building The Old Republic, so they'll need a lot of subscriptions.
There is already a Star Wars MMO. People who follow the gaming industry closely might understand how different a Bioware Star Wars MMO is from SOE's Star Wars: Galaxies, but will the average consumer?
World of Warcraft: the huge variety of people who play MMOs play World of Warcraft. Will The Old Republic be able to lure enough hardcore WoW-heads to make their nut?

I'm gonna have to take the "insider statements" with a massive grain of salt, as they don't even know how long the game has been in development. It's been announced for over two years, but in development for over five. An "Insider" would know this.
