Definitely looking forward to playing 2v2 tournament, Just finished playing a few mach matches with PlasticStingray against GriffinSentinel and A4V Fallen to see how the setup for the matches should be, looking promising for a future tourney. How many people would be interested?
I'd be interested.
True..picking teams ourselves could get ugly. However, teaming with someone you may not like or do not communicate well with could get ugly as well. Maybe we should just say if your name is Pak, Angels, Kant or Reaper your opponents get a 10 kill handicap? Seriously though, I would rather choose my partner..just seems like the 1 round I am in would be more fun lol.
I re-read my post earlier and it comes off differently than I intended. I'm not saying those 4 guys are the BEST in the clan, they're just examples of 2 man teams that I would hate to play against. I may have inadvertently offended some people, I'm sorry that wasn't my intention. We have plenty of great players here, and I don't want people singled out cause that's not what we're here for. We're here to have fun, blow off some steam and destroy teenagers. lol
That being said, I still support the random draw. (...cause I don't wanna play those guys lol)
I'm 100% in for this. I agree that some tandums would probably be good, but then again everyone has their bad days. I'm down for whatever. If we are going to do a random draw, then I suggest those team's to skrims against other teams to get used to play style and call outs.

No he is not. Tournaments are run by the Green team, please don't assume otherwise. As stated by bullet earlier in this thread, he is working with the Green team to organize this tourney. If you want future tourney‘s, then please approach one of the Green team members to do so. Thank you

The teams will be self chosen, for example... PlasticStingray and I have already decided to be partners in the 2v2. Choose your partner early and you might have a leg up. Pakman can choose to be will whoever agrees to be his teammate so maybe asking him will get you on his team. There shouldnt be any limits as to who Pakman or Reaper partner up with because the tourney should be fair to everyone in it and its about having fun in the first place. This is my personal opinion on the scenario. The sooner you choose your partner, the sooner you can come up with tactics and learn how each other play on a team and what works best. Any time PlasticStingray and I are online at the same time and you want to practice some 2v2, I, and i'm sure Stingray, will verse you and your partner because we had fun doing it yesterday.
Remember, team work and communication are key.

I also see possible reduction in clan participation in these tourneys. I know I would stop playing in them if the same teams of people were always teamed and always winning. I saw it in the old clan tournaments we used to have. It was the same 4-5 people in the top slots every time. We started making the prizes random so the not so good players could "win" and therefore keep their interest.

I see your points made about the competitive side of things, but it is an optional tournament for a prize therefore I would vote to be self-selected teams. Angels and I are good friends and he was the one that got me to join the clan to begin with. We run together a lot and understand how teammates would work. I enjoy the company of clan mates but some of the tactics they use aren't something I'd ever be comfortable running with and if it's cause of that team mate that I lose I want to know him personally so I can kick him in the junk lol.

We could make it so the teams in the top 3 slots wouldn't be allowed to compete in the next tournament of similar set-up. Like a 2v2 team can't play in the next 2v2 tourney etc.

Ultimately it will be up to the Green Team. I'm just voicing what I foresee is something that can lead to problems in the clan as a whole down the line when you add this level of competitiveness to a clan that isn't supposed to be competitive. If it does end up you can self choose and the issues I see do come to pass I will hold on to my womanly prerogative to say "I told you this would happen" when it does lol.

I didnt say for a fact he was in charge of all tournaments, I stated that I believed he was, which are two different things so you need to drop the attitude. Second of all, I didnt start this tournament idea on my own, someone from the green team, a4v fallen, agreed with the idea and we were testing out the idea so I posted a forum asking who would be interested in joining a tournament that was 2v2 and the opinions of how it should be played out is free to be spoken. we are asked to post and comment on this website and i feel like you just contradicted the whole idea. please step off.
1st A4V Fallen is not a part of the green team. 2nd - I didn't see Jack's post as having an attitude. He was just reinforcing my earlier post and trying to reinforce that the Green Team aka the Welcoming and Events Crew are the only ones that will run tournaments in this clan. We are doing this for a reason. We are always open to suggestions of tourneys. We don't want it to go in the direction that makes others think its a done deal until the GT has been consulted. This thread has been going in the direction of "done deal" and it's not. It has been brought to the attention of the GT and the particulars will be worked out sometime after the current 1v1 is complete.

Here's my $0.02. I don't think we, as a military gaming community, have that much of an issue teaming with a random player in the USMG. So working together and communication should be easy in 2v2. Besides this way we can play with other members of the USMG we normally don't. A win-win, play in a tournament and meet more of your fellow members.

I think we need to skip team camp-match, and play an objective based game as well. HQ, Dom, Defender would be good. Something that focuses on teamwork.

Not trying to sound little an ass, because the overall goal is to achieve a big family clan. If it is a competitive tournament for a prize why would "fairness" be an issue. You don't see the 18-1 New England Patriots with a super bowl ring right? It's a team based, as well as hopefully objective based therefore kills shouldn't hold nearly as much value. I think if people are worried about the quality of their partners they need to practice. Simply put. We aren't a competitive clan but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't still strive to be the best. Playing sally softies and allowing people to pick their own people they normally run with will cause a lot less frustration I think. I think objective based matches would easily defuse that issue. I wouldn't run with a random, not because I wouldn't think we couldn't win, just would hate having to coach things on how me and my normal team mates run the matches

Will if you want to random is teams put individual ins single beakers then roll some dice for pairs. Who ever is the first set of numbers 1-1 2-2 3-3 and so on are on a team. Its random.

Wow, this thread has been active since I last had a chance to read it. I feel everyone makes some valid points. Bull3t is right about the good teams always dominating leading to fewer people playing down the road. One of the reasons I was hesitant about playing in the controller tournament was knowing I just can not beat some of our guys. In the end I was talked into it and I am glad I was. It easily ranks up there as one of my favorite MW3 experiences (as does yelling/cheering people while watching their matches).
I personally am pro choice but that is has nothing to do with how far I can get in the tournament and everything to do with maximizing my enjoyment. During those mock matches Schizo and I only won one out of three so it can not be said we are powerhouses trying to stack the deck lol. Perhaps any tournament with prizes could be random teams to equal the field a little and tournaments without prizes could be preformed teams for bragging rights/fun (although the top performers may feel this as a penalty for being good). In the end that is a decision for a higher pay grade then mine...good luck sorting this out green team and my hat is off to you :D.

So I have been playing Call of Duty for a while and I have come to the realization that Nukes and MOABs have been the most stressful part of Call of Duty. Forget the random revenge spawns for those running assassin, blind eye, and suppressors. Forget the hit markers that tend to cease to exist because of the head glitching or lag compensation. Even the 5 minute stretches of killstreaks that just won't end and apparently no one will shoot it down because they are waiting for someone else to do it. Somewhere along the line when you get to a high kill count and you realize it, for some reason you start edging out of your seat. Playing cautiously terrified of getting killed. You do something stupid, whether you miss a corner, forget to reload, in my case get caught reloading out in plain sight. You start looking up at the radar more and get caught strafing out. What is your fail number? Mine is 17. Technically it was 16 but 17 played bait and I took it and took a striker up my behind. Kill Confirmed and I like tags. What is your number? Or rather what was your way of getting your MOAB? And did it drive you crazy until it happened?

MOAB's are very hard to come by but camping is definitely a key element. I got a MOAB in a FFA match once. When I'm trying to go for a MOAB I use Specialist killstreaks because Assault/Support killstreaks do not add up to your MOAB kills. Only gun kills add up and you need 25. Also use Hardline Pro... It helps and works wonders when you're in a pinch. Not bad for getting a few rank ups either.

I was using one of my rush classes (MP7 rapid fire, MP9? Akimbo, Sleight of hand, Assassin and Steady Aim) on Bootleg. I would kill one swap to secondary, kill another, swap to primary and reload. This went on for a few minutes and I actually got in another USMG players way. When he realized I was owning he said "I am just gonna follow you and give support since your on a MOAB run". I realize he may be right...sit up a little straighter..start holding my breath when I see people...couple kills later and ohh there is another guy...fuck no ammo in either gun..down goes a Stingray. Moral is to always reload your gun even if you only fired three shots so you know when to start looking for a new weapon. This is in my vault and every so often I watch it and cry.

That's def the way to do it. I always use specialist, unless I'm in a big grp, then I use support

I got a MOAB about a month ago with specialist on.. I had a 26 kill streak... I shit my pants when I activated the killstreak.

I almost got one last night. I played a lobby with nothing but noobs and when I reached 18 kills I ran out of ammo. :( Once I died, I had lost my mojo and had no success from that point on.

Thanks Havok but be warned, I think IW did something to the assault rifles... they don't hit as hard and are not as accurate as they once were. Now you have to use a combo, of marksman and focus to get the job done... heck just to get back the accuracy they once had.

I was playing last night, and while the LMG's felt drastically different, AR's really didn't. But again, 10 matches on HC aren't exactly scientific research.

I just played barebones for the first time yesterday and actually liked it, its more fun to just try killing the other team without worrying about getting jacked up by someone else's killstreak.

People say Barebones suck and you're a scrub if you play. but I got bored playing Core, I was getting a juggernaut every game. for me personally Barebones is where it's at, just you and the other guys blasting away without the perks making or breaking the game.

So this is my second go around and I find myself at level 80 again. Oh Call of Duty the many younglings that you have allowed me to slaughter. And now I am wondering should I do it all over again. I say I will use different weapons every time. The M4 has always been my stable. But this prestige I have used the MP7 and I am wondering why I never used the weapon. Should I prestige??? My first prestige I used the SCAR-L exclusively... with just a little bit of the AK47 (I know it's stupid but I was new so I didn't know any better). Use the AK the second time through until I got myself hooked on the MP7 towards the end. I'm at 9 now and I've used a different weapon or a combo of 3 different ones each time since then. It's been really fun "getting to know" all the different weapons so I'd say go for it. I'm going to stop at Prestige 10 because I think that is the coolest looking emblem (I have absolutely no desire to go up to 15 let alone 20 like it's been rumored). I'd say keep going until you really like the emblem (or you've unlocked enough extra custom class's so you can be set for any situation). Just my opinion but I hope it helps.

Johnathon has a very valid point here too. That is another reason that I'm really excited to get to level 10 this week and be done with it so I can start working on challenges/emblems and such as well. My final answer would be to enjoy reaching level 80 for a little while until you're ready to start over, it got really old hitting 80 and presteging the very next match that I could but I was determined to get where I wanted.

Not prestiging makes the game boring if you have the chance to continue prestiging I would. But that's my thought process on the situation!

Give the P90 a go. I used it on 2nd and third, i unlocked it early with a prestige coin. I'm not sure which one I'm going to use on my next go around.
I believe the game will get old faster if you are not trying to level up.
Have you thought about unlocking a perks early instead unlocking a weapon (with the coin)?

I would agree with everything said. Presteging gives you something else to work for and doesn't make the game boring after a week. But not doing it can help in getting those pesky emblems and call signs.
The only perk in my eyes that's worth unlocking is Scavenger. Assassin is given at 27, which should take about around 2 hours to get.

I agree with this. I have never prestiged, but that is because I too like getting all the stuff. I personally love the G36 on this game.

I only prestige in COD black ops, I actually like being an 80 level, the guys with the +what ever prestige talked down, like last night some clan was all over me about our clan emblem saying we are recruiting, keep my mouth shut and broke out with UMP45 and twin assualt pistols and F*cked some people up in HCKC there was no talking bewteen rounds. Then pulled a nasty 4 kills with a Semtex on the next round they backed out after that.

This happened last night to a group of us. They beat us by two points then talked a ton of shit about it. Btw it didnt even go to 65, time ran out. The next match we beat the shit out of them like 65 to 30 something. It was hilarious. They were saying oh I got to go to the store lol we all started laughing

SO I pulled the trigger on my 3rd prestige. And I plan to keep only one try hard class. But it actually seems the caliber of players have gone up. Or maybe the fact that I am using guns that I have never even touched. LMG and Shotguns and no not the Striker. But what is weird I have been running the L118A and finding a lot of success with just finding a vantage point and perching up for the match. I don't do that no scope crap. I actually use the Sniper rifles the way they were designed to be used. But I get the whole "Camper" craze at the end of the match. How do you guys think the Sniper RIfles should be used?

(I focus on being stealthy)
Usually run Support class:
UAV or Vests
Advanced UAV

I think that's the proper use of snipers. I'm okay with them, but I only run them with an overkill class and sniper for 1-2 kills then move with my AR/SMG to a new point. But I don't use Bolt Guns cause I'm not great with accuracy do I prefer the Barrett or AS50 on core and the RSASS on hardcore.

It actually benefits both of you. He gets to kill everyone trying to kill you or he is able to warn you when he or she dies. He has to use all the stealthy set up so he can so he surprises the enemy as they are going for you.

I played the other night on Liberation, and I only got to 16....shit seems a lot harder from when I first started playing it
I notice on the newer maps the combined, helo, soldiers, dogs and jugernauts at the same time is crazy. I pre arrange an ambush site away from where I am holding my ground and run thru there with a predator ready for the choppers.

I am horrible when it comes to playing with the shotgun class.....Horrible I tell ya...hahaha!
It's the range perk that you guys hate lol. But I make it fair I don't use the range perk on my shotguns, I used the 2 attachments perk in those matches. I also used the KSG-12, not the Striker or the AA-12 like I did in those other clips. It has a slower cycle rate than the other shotguns. But I still love that KSG just because of the damage, it's higher than any other shotty in the game.

Best way to get a good streak using the akimbo is with the skorpions. I use the crap out of the skorpion akimbo when I play HC KC. Def a great way to piss people off. You'll eventually start noticing more people in the same lobby switching there class because its a great set up to do damage

If you want a tip about getting better at drop shotting etc. I would setup your controller layout to tactical it switches your melee button from R3(PS3) to O i believe and B on xbox. It takes getting used but its effective. Quickscopers usually have programmed controllers and shit.

The devs actually don't mind quick scoping since they haven't done anything about it since MW2.
Quickscoping is overrated and will get you killed. Play hardcore to avoid this bullshit since quickscopers can't compete and there's no point graphic for the silly montages they create.

It's going to take more than just a few private matches to get it down. Sure you might get the basics but if you really want to learn your going to have to do it in game. Which also means your going to get killed ALOT, thus inducing even more rage. I've been quick/drag scoping since WaW and I still suck sometimes.

Not necessarily. If you do enough QS private matches, with more than just you and another person, you have to learn quickly. Add in one or two people with actual weapons, and you have yourself a real challenge.

I think you can learn and get better. Ive practiced..and practiced...mostly I just get some lucky shots. In my opinion to be that good you either got it or dont, and as said before most of it is MODs

I did manage to play a couple of hours of quick scoping last night in a private match with 3 guys I met online funnily enough lol. They were quick scopers though so I really had to concentrate. I got in quite a few good shots though :) Don't think I'm a natural hah, they were kind of lucky when they happened most likely. Took me by surprise more than my kill I think lol!

I hate it every time, but, PRESTIGE!
Grab a couple custom classes then all the perks and gear you want to have at level 1 again.
With double xp as they have been giving it to us you can get to lvl 60 or so in a few days.
I hit the last chance button 11 times on PC, and am working my way up on xBox.
I always disliked seeing xp come in and getting no leveling satisfaction.

I stopped at level 10 for a while, and found the game getting a little boring so I started to prestige again. Now that it goes to level 20, its almost like reseting my stats.

my accuracy sits between 17.25 and 17.50....dont get me wrong though ...i have my fair share of bad games...thats why I cant pull my KD up its at .6 something but the good thing about it is I could give two shits less about it in clan ops...ill die to save my team.

I don't usually worry about k/d. I get my kills and I worry more about protecting our team or flanking. I usually get the flanker award. Every game

I never prestiged in any CoD game. But that's because I like completing challenges, so if you don't care about those, can't really make a recommendation.

I was playing around with a run and gun smg setup last night, and was amazed at how often I'd roll up behind people. The best was the guys camping the truck on Mission, with my entire team so helpfully marching in to the meatgrinder. It was a distraction move on their part, I'm sure.

I do it so often, My best maps are Hard Hat and Resistance for flanking. Everyone wants to rush the team to B (dom) or up the big stairs. I just flank and yell B clear haha. or in Hard Hat come around those camping the outside pipe area and if you angle it right get 3-4 in one volley.

Yeah, Hard Hat is a good one, but Mission and Lockdown were surprisingly good to me last night.

You know if you take off the silencer you'll have a more effective weapon. Why might you say. Because in HC KC it doesn't matter if you have a silencer. They can't see you unless they have a UAV up, and even if you do have a silencer, they'll still see you. That's unless you like to be quiet all the time. The only way to not be seen is by changing your perks to assassin pro and blind eye pro. I never use a silencer on HC. I want to get the most damage possible, even though it takes one bullet, but with an MP7 you can fire far. I put range on my MP7 and roll wit it lol

There are a couple guns that the silencer actually improves. I know the ACR is one of them.

I will run silencer in HC if I find the guys sound whoring corners. Then I flank and they cant tell where the sound comes from as well. I ran with some USMG guys last night and someone got a MOAB. I wish in Hardcore I could see who was talking cause my bad ear(long story) I cant always differentiate voices. We ran the table in HC last night. It is so awesome to party up and have a blast non op time haha.

I really don't want to loose all the shit I got from my 10th prestige BUT I have that itch where I want to prestige again. AHHHHH! I have prestige over and over and now have stopped. I am far behind you but catching up. I prestige so again i can fight to unlock stuff. I used my prestige tokens to unlock my mp7 and acr and of course stinger. Guys hate when a level 1 kills their hind or reaper haha

The thing is. I have everything I want and more. I don't need any weapon upgrades to be unlocked or even perks. Really, the only thing I would loose is my shotgun class and that class literally took me an ass load of time to build up. I just need to learn how to run with it like Twisted. Dude's a beast with it. I've prestige so much that not doing it is driving me a bit stir crazy lol

It does (about 3-6 hours, depending on the gun). On 360, I'm trying to 'finish' (unlock all attachments) all the weapons. On PS3, I'm just getting service star 1 for all the weapons and then I'll just use my favorite weapons.

I havent played in a while but on ps3 I have a few 1 stars.
I've service starred 31 of 84 weapons on PS3, and 34/84 on Xbox.
I've completed 27 weapons on Xbox, but I estimate it will take me another 189 hours of gameplay to finish the rest.

So I saw you post and skimmed the first couple comments before I thought I'd chip in my 2 cents. By now, Black Ops 2 is going to be coming out soon so unless you're close to any certain emblem or accomplishment you'd like that you can only gain from prestiging OR you want to use the token to unlock another Class slot, I'd say don't do it.
When I started WM3 I knew I was going to ten. There's exclusive emblems and such in the prestige shop you can only get using prestige tokens. The first 5 prestige tokens I used to unlock my classes because I like to run with the same gun set up for 2 or even all three streak rewards. I have 5 ARs, 2 SMGs, 1 shottie and 2 sniper classes all set up basically the same with different streaks and in the ARs case, different attachments for different types of games. I hit ten a little less than a week ago and I'm done. I'm just working on challenges ATM. I'm still finding different guns with different attachments and streaks to run with that work good and I'm done prestiging. When you prestige, it resets most of your stats and attachments anyways. So if you're just doing it to try new guns out and such, don't prestige. Cause that way, if the gun you're trying out sucks balls, you can always go back to ol faithful and she'll still have all the attachments you were nice enough to get her.

Wow that was harsh...
Not really...everything said was accurate, but I wouldn't say I will never buy another one...just that I probably won't. I guess the statement that it was the MOST glitchiest was false, just that it is glitchy.
