So not only is PSN still down, but apparently they've shut down all of the SOE servers as well.

Now Congress is getting involed about the Hack, why?

from what i've read i think this is an issue congress was looking to address anyways and this Sony stuff was "the last straw" that really got things moving and meetings in action. The meetings are regarding data theft in general, but since Sony is the current big issue i think that's why a lot of the focus is on them; They make a perfect example of why data theft is an issue and what needs to be done to lower the risks of these types of threats.
i've also been seeing headlines circulate the net this morning that Sony now accuses or blames anonymous for the attack, but i want to clearify that no accusations have been made at all. These news reporting sites (Kotaku, gamepro, G4, etc) are taking one line from an 8 page statement submitted to the US House of Representitives and interpreting that as blame being placed. The line only states that they found a file placed on their system titled "Anonymous" that says "We are Legion" but the person(s) behind the attack are still unknown so take these news articles with a grain of salt because a lot of them are being based on speculation. That's not to say Anonymous is not responsible, my point is only that as of yet no blame has been placed and the culprits are unknown and congress has not been reported as knowing any different...,yet
