I thought they now did away with the stole valor act. Kind of like that guy who got away with wearing Marine Corps dress blues, captain insignias, silver stars, and purple hearts. I think they ended up saying it was "freedom of speech" or some BS like that. What a shitbag!

This guy is in central PA, the reason this is getting so much attention the Patriot news out of Harrisburg did a big story about him, taking him at his word without checking on his service. Several Vet organizations called the paper about the story to complain then the TV news got a hold of this and pushed it, now national news and internet are running with this. Me I think the fact he will lose his job and have to face small town, were no one ever forgets anything is justice enough. I think the newspaper is part to blame for not checking on this guys service, ask to see his dd214.

BS beyond BS. A service member would get Articles thrown at them and then some. A separated/retired service member or civilian is getting, in essence, a slap on the wrist (MoH is the exception). Letting this happen dilutes the meaning and significance of the medals and the service men/women behind them. I don't know what I would do to those who lie about this but I don't want to see them get away with it. Some kind of fine, jail time or stigma of being a social pariah needs to be attached to doing this.

Also I'm getting tired of people hiding behind the First Amendment to get off of crap like this. It's freedom of speech my ass.

That's awesome, lol. All the SEALs I've ever met, I just ask them their class number. So out of the hundreds, I figure I've met 2. 3 if you count friend who let me in on this trick. But he could be lying too. /shifty-eyes

"HOOAH" to me and guys that where in the Army and said "HOORAH" to me.....LMAO There are ALL kinds of posers out there.

With the draft ending in 74 or 73 that was around 37 years ago so add 18 to that 55 and up a lot of guys most likely we in the service. Now younger its only .08 % of the US and every time something goes good and the military gets press time that when the posers come out of the walls. I have found I quit wearing USMC stuff when I'm out traveling so I don;t have to hear someone talk there ass off. I usually don't get mad I take it as a compliment.

i just dont under stand why people have the constant need to lie about what they did in the service?? Are they not proud?? I was a wheel mech before i went Aviation and love Both and im proud that i work on a technological terror that beats the air in to submission in order to use opposing forces to stay in the air!! i had a buddy back in Germany that was a Light Wheel Mechanic in our unit...we where close and keep in touch even after he went in to Assessment..needless to say he was hard core and wanted to go delta as soo as he could..disappeared of the radar for about 10 years and i saw him couple years back stateside and he refuse's to tell me anything or if hes delta..only thing i do know is he's been at bragg every since and i do know he made assessment..and when we went out with friends he'd only say he was a mechanic.. worked on Humvee and stuff..then shoot me a look to a shut up and agree.. i asked him whats up you should be proud of what you done and your accomplishments.. he told me thanks and he appreciated how i felt but he told me that only my real friend's get to know who and what i am and no friggin stranger going to anything and that's that!!..he went on to tell me that they operate on a total different level and until you do that you wont understand....i coincided and told him ok ...
know i now why they are called the Silent Professionals ... so it really amaze me when these guys come out and brag about their exploits! and they arent even true!!
