Batman's super villain is going out on a high note says actor.

Mark Hamill – the voice of Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum – has hinted that the super villain's appearance in the sequel could well be his last. Talking exclusively with IGN at the Cannes Film Festival, Hamill said of his role of the Joker, "This will be my last, there's no question about that. But it's the last hurrah."

Hamill added that he was also unsure as to whether he should even have appeared at all, initially thinking developer Rocksteady would be unable to top the original game and that he "wanted to be able to say I'd gone out on a high note," but was finally convinced to resurrect Joker once more.

Hamill also revealed how he's extremely protective over the role, but equally was blown away by Heath Ledger's interpretation of the character in The Dark Knight: "He was the most joyless Joker. Not a hint of theatricality; he was almost like a heroin addict. It never would have occurred to me, and that's why it was so delightful and surprising."

BTW, they said this game is going to be more dynamic as far as the main villains go. By that, they mean what Two-Face is doing is going to be different than what Joker is doing, than what the Penguin is doing, than what Hugo Strange is doing.

The mechanics are familiar, with a few nifty new tricks in. The one thing they hyped showed Batman gliding through the air, then suddenly diving and then reopening his cape to rise back up in the sky and glide further. Additionally, while gliding you can fire off your grappling hook to swing towards a point, release, and glide more (think Spider-Man swinging from building to building).

In one scene, Batman could also interrogate thugs that he beats up. I'm sure it's only certain ones, as the one he beat up was highlighted in green. Hopefully that footage pops up somewhere.

Robin is an exclusive pre-order download for Best Buy, as stated on their website, but it's not clear if The Boy Wonder is a timed-exclusive or if you'll only be able to get the content pack from Best Buy.

The Robin content pack is more than a re-skinned character; it comes with Robin-exclusive gadgets, special moves, two new challenge room maps and a Red Robin costume. I'm pretty sure the Red Robin costume is a furry costume from the restaurant chain. Don't quote me on that though.

The Tim Drake Robin DLC pack will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Batman: Arkham City (http://www.g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/63090/batman-arkham-city/)will be released on October 18.

Many gamers have been very unhappy with exclusive DLC, as seen with the planned boycotts of Battlefield 3 (http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/713749/Battlefield-3-Physical-Warfare-DLC-Pack-Free-For-Everyone/). Day 0 DLC and retailer exclusive DLC is hardly a new thing, but it's not popular among gamers either. How do you think gamers will react to Robin being a Best Buy pre-order exclusive?

I'm truthfully not a fan of Best Buy. So if I have to wait and pay fore the robin DLC, then it'll be a minor inconvenience in my eyes. But the DLC does sound pretty awesome.

The bad news...looks like they're only available through a retailer in New Zealand at this point (according to this article (http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/batman-arkham-city/news/retailer-reveals-arkham-city-alt-costumes-for-batman-and-beyond/a-20110802131210275077/g-20091214174528870002)).

The article does indicate that there is a lot of confusion at this point as to what retailer is offering what incentive for ordering. One definite is that there will be a special collector's edition that will include 'The Dark Knight Returns' skin, based on the appearance of Batman in the Frank Miller story.

Everyone try to act surprised. Catwoman, who was confirmed as a second playable character for sections of Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City (http://www.g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/63090/batman-arkham-city/), out October 18, will also be a featured player in her own DLC release. If a recently updated GameStop (http://www.gamestop.com/strategy-guides/batman-arkham-city-limited-edition-official-strategy-guide/92682) product listing is to be believed, at any rate.

The retailer's product page for the strategy guide from BradyGames says that the book will include a "bonus" Catwoman walkthrough, with "complete coverage of Catwoman's DLC content... all four episodes" of it (via GamesRadar (http://www.gamesradar.com/gamestop-listing-outs-catwoman-dlc-episodes/)). There's no additional detail, but the wording seems pretty telling.

The mention of "episodes" makes it sound like Catwoman's DLC will be a bit more full-featured than additions to the game's challenge room modes. I'd wager that a fair portion of you were expecting to see some kind of more story-driven DLC for her at some point, especially since Arkham City's open-world environment lends itself pretty well to that kind of add-on.

While there's no further information available, the fact that the BradyGames guide will feature a walkthrough for the DLC strongly suggests that, whatever this Catwoman add-on is, we'll be seeing it pretty close to the game's launch, perhaps even on day one.

If the achievements for Batman: Arkham City are to be believed, a future DLC pack will let the player spend time as Nightwing - the original Robin, all grown up. According to an article on Joystiq, the new achievements that leak point to a future "Nightwing Bundle Pack" that will let players play as Dick Grayson.

Batman: Arkham City players won't have to wait long to get their hands on the Boy Wonder and his alternate - and more badass - ego, Nightwing. Warner Brothers Interactive today confirmed that the latter Nightwing Bundle Pack will be ready for download as soon as November 1, with the Robin DLC to follow weeks later on November 22.

As previously hinted in a leaked trophy list, Nightwing will join the game as a playable character sporting new moves and gadgets in Arkham City's challenge maps. His DLC will also include two new challenge maps, Wayne Manor and Main Hall, as well as an alternative Animated Series version of the Nightwing costume. It will retail for $6.99 (560 Microsoft Points).

For the same price, players can also pick up the Robin character pack on November 22. The follow-up DLC will also offer new challenge maps and skins, and is currently available a pre-order bonus at Best Buy in the US, and at Gamestop in the UK.

Well its a damn good game, but only cause Arkham Asylum was damn good. Theyre the same game essentially, with little change in game mechanics. There arent as many "Detecting" missions though, which annoyed me. Alot of "go here, collect that" missions. I wasnt satisfied with the ending either. I felt like I'd been cheated. Did alot of work for it to end so cheap. I guessed the plot secrets...all of them. No surprises in this story. I was happy with all the cameo appearances, lots of enemies, a real Rogues gallery. Just really expected more. Hype wins again.

Ya the advanced AR training is kicking my ass.

I just finished the first playthrough 100%. The trophies were a bitch. I hate the Riddler. The AR training was a pain too, but I found the key was to just let off the R2 button and NOT touch the stick to come out of a dive bomb. In other words, dont pull on the stick to get out of it, Batman will level himself out more smoothly and not climb higher(which was my issue).

Now on to New Game +.....

Warner Bros. just announced the first piece of DLC for Batman: Arkham City. The Nightwing Bundle Pack will be available on the Playstation Network and Xbox LIVE on November 1 for 560 Microsoft Points or $7, which should give you ample time to finish up the game proper before checking out Nightwing.

Nightwing, a.k.a Dick Grayson, who used to be Robin, comes with his own fighting moves, unique gadgets and special maneuvers. He's playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the DLC: Wayne Manor and Main Hall. The pack also contains a bonus Animated Series Nightwing character skin.

Warner also said the Robin Bundle Pack is scheduled for release on November 22.

Upcoming challenge map pack to feature pre-order content and Batman's underground lair

Rocksteady is suiting up to release another batch of challenge maps for Batman: Arkham City which will see players WHAM!, ZOK!, and KAPOW! against crime in two villainous locales and one very secret vigilante hideout.

Confirmed for arrival on December 20, the DLC pack will include two challenge maps that were originally handed out as pre-order bonuses: the Iceberg Lounge map, wherein players brawl inside Penguin's swanky establishment; and Joker's Carnival, both of which follow the standard mode that challenges Batmen and Batwomen to rack up the biggest score possible by surviving hordes of enemies and building up a combat gauge for extra perks. In addition to previously released content, the pack will also contain a new Batcave challenge map, the complete details of which have yet to be released.

Judging by this and the recent Robin and Nightwing packs, Rocksteady appears to be focusing its DLC efforts on challenge maps, rather than actual game expansions. Not to say the new arenas and modes aren't interesting, just that a new side mission, story expansion, or any new reason at all to stalk Arkham City's streets would also be welcome.

Today, Warner Bros. has confirmed Harley Quinn's Revenge, "the final chapter in Batman: Arkham City that adds more than two hours of original gameplay to the critically-acclaimed interactive title."

I played through it again recently. One of my favorites.
