according to Kotaku and the New York Times, 3 members of "anonymous" have been found and arrested in Spain under several charges including the data theft on PSN servers and face up to 3 years in prison, and 1 member of "LulzSec" has been arrested by the FBI under charges of hacking the Sony BMG, Nintendo, and Sony Pictures websites.

Anonymous has responded with the following twitter post:

Dear @policia, Expect us. #Anonymous

I seriously don't get these type of people. They know they are doing something wrong and are very open about it, seeing themselves as some sort of "freedom fighters" yet when they get caught they get all butt hurt and think they now need to exact some sort of revenge as if they were attacked unprovoked and were doing nothing wrong in the first place. It just makes them come across as little whiney crybabies, desperate for attention. If it were a legitimate cause they were "fighting" for then you'd think getting caught would be expected and they'd hope to become a martyr, showing the world how the evil corporations are oppressing the innocent and free etc. etc.

Ya know,
If these guys were sticking it too the man, by erasing all my debt, transferring the combined funds of all the asshats in the world into my coffers, and making gas free; I might pay them more attention, and give them the respect they think they deserve.

Until that day comes, they offend me, and need to shut the fuck up..

I saw this on the late news this evening. The broadcast I was watching said the kid never left his house because he had some condition called "Agoraphobia", which is the fear of open spaces.

In the broadcast I saw, his mother apparently told police he stayed in his room almost all the time with his two computers. Neighbors said they never suspected anything out of the ordinary, though they hardly ever saw him.

lulzsec says the kid wasn't part of them and was only loosely associated with them at all but even if that is indeed true, I don't see them letting him walk without any major charges. They probably want to alienate these hacker groups by showing that anyone who even associates with them are at risk of getting in trouble so that eventually no one wants anything to do with the groups. Not saying it's necessarily right or the best way to go about it but it can be effective if that's what they try to do
