Bethesda has announced a brand new game they will be publishing, Dishonored, which will be developed by Arkane Studios for release in 2012. You will recognize Arkane Studios as a development house that created Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and their contributions to BioShock 2. Dishonored is described as a first person action
game with stealth elements, but we know nothing more at the moment.

Here's a big preview of Dishonored at the link below. This looks like a very interesting game with a ton of potential. I'd definitely put this one on the watch list.

Bethesda had us fooled. Here we were yesterday, our hope sprung eternal that an Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer was headed our way, after the developer teased an image of what looked to be a Nord (and perhaps his Thalmor captor) and a sure foreshadowing of upcoming Skyrim DLC. In search of Dawnguard, we let down our guard, and now we’re sprawled on floor. Picking up our jaws

Got Dishonored last night, and so far I am really enjoying it. Played from about 2130 to about 0300. (yea work SUCKS this morning *LOL*)
If you are looking for a comparison it's kinda like Assassin's Creed meets Charles Dickens.
The world of Dishonored is awesome, it's a very typically steampunk in all the right ways. The tech is just a blast to look at and experience. Everything mostly runs on highly refined wale oil. Every bit of it is heavy iron and brass.
The environments continue the overall feel of the game, a Victorian metropolis devastated and in ruin by a massive plague. Gangs rule the streets, and the government attempts to hold power during the epidemic and a coup.
Game play is fun, it's all first person, the control scheme takes a bit to get used to. You fight with both hands so the L1 and R1 buttons operate each hand. After you get used to that (like 3.25 seconds) it's pretty much standard FPS.
Climbing is pretty easy, much like AC you get up to the, wall, building, what have you and start bounding upward. I was actually very happy that I haven't run into one of those AC issues where you really have to work to get the character to go where you want him to instead of bounding off in another direction etc.
As for the story it's great, Guy love girl, girl is the empress, guy is her closest protector, head of the royal guard, badguys kill girl, frame guy, take over the country, imprison the girls daughter and successor to the throne, and guy is out for REVENGE!
Did I mention that "the guy" is assisted by some other worldly demigod who grants him access to magical powers? YEA I KNOW RIGHT! Legen.......

DARY!
The absolute best part of this game for me is it's just a breath of fresh air. Very much unlike a lot of the games I have been playing lately with and engaging story and unique feel.
If you are up for something off the beaten path ... check it out.

Loving it so far. Has a similar feel to Bioshock. Very cool style and gameplay is smooth. I would agree with Mjolnir!

I picked up a used copy of Dishonored not to long ago and it was pretty sweet the video looks pretty sweet.
