I'm looking to upgrade my headset for the 360. The ones you get with the system aren't worth the plastic they're made out of. Any suggestions? Mid to high end preferred for better game chat and 3d sound. And also something that helps me hear those backstabbing bastards behind me on Black Ops. :D

I use turtle beach headsets for my xbox, only downside is you have to use the component cables instead of HDMI. Great for hearing those footsteps coming up behind you...

Hate hate hate turtle beach's. I had/have evry pair. i use the Tritton 720's and Tritton AX Pro's. Great crisp sound without the popping that turtle beach's provide.

Gotta disagree, but mostly because I despise the cord. Which is why I love my Turtle Beach's. But to be honest, I never noticed much, if any, difference between Tritton and TB.

There's no popping sound with turtle beaches unless you get the very cheap ones

Thanks for the info guys. I've been reading up on both and looking at the reviews. As always there are good points and bad, as well as the reviews that say "X headset sucks because I have Y headset! TROLLOLOLOL!!". I just laugh at those and ignore them. :D Aside from the reviews has anyone tried both and can give insights on sound and feel of the headset as well as durability? Even if you've just used one of them, all the info would be appreciated.

I've tried on the tritons but they are too bulky for me but the sound is good can pick up the sound of ppl behind you and you know what you should get with the headset :D

Here is what i know about the ax pros. I had them for a year then the removable mic broke so i bought the cheapest Tritons I could buy to replace the removable mic which worked. The mic broke were the mic jack plugs into the headset. This is a known problem with the headset I believe. Also another problem I ran into was the left speaker plastic housing broke off right where it connects. It was hanging by a wire but duct taped fixed that problem. Still the best headset even with its flaws due to true Dolby digital 5.1.

After checking everything out I think I'm going to get the Tritton AX Pro. Considering how well I keep my electronics they should last me for quite a long time, and if anything is wrong it seems like their tech support is rather reliable. That and I have the option of buying the Tritton Black Ops headset. Pretty much the same aide from the cosmetic design, braided cables, a travel hard case and gold plated connectors. Tempting, very tempting.

Edit: Cost is $169.99 w/ free 360 HD digital cable included. Use boxarena for the coupon code and get 10% for a total of $160.49. I think we have a winner. :D

Well after almost a week it finally got here. My BO Tritton Pro arrived by UPS and it looks awesome [pics below]. Now I just need to mess around with the settings for optimal gaming. If anyone has tips for the best settings I'm all ears. So far the only down side are the cords. But that's easily over looked.

Steel Series looks nice. But I'm already good to go with the BO Tritton Pros. I'll keep them in mind for a home theater system in the works though.

Yup. knocking off the $7.50 shipping and paying $9.50 less is always a good thing. :D

If you pop the lower half of the component cable off you can use electrical tape to seal it off then you can use both HDMI and component. Just remember that the channel for the component will only play audio no video and the HDMI will blay both. The component is only for the head set.

I just got the TB P11's and they are fine...great! :)

I wanted the Tritton AX 720's or Pro's...of course I did...but at £100 more I just couldn't afford it or justify spending that amount on a headset as a casual gamer. (not sure how that converts to dollars but about 160 dollars more I guess)

Having not ever had the Tritton's though, I concluded that I wouldn't know what it is that's better about them, or what I'd be missing anyway... so it's all good imo

I needed something that works with both consoles, and my turtle beaches are starting to get an odd static pop when i use them, so it was upgrade time. Plus Sentry found a great deal WITH an extra coupon code. So you end up with a $250 headset for $160. Cant beat that

You'll have to let me know how they compare. Then when I can afford to upgrade maybe I'll get a set. I only paid £40 for mine (about $60) so not a great loss if I upgrade I suppose. I was so close to getting the trittons, I even reserved a set but changed my mind at last minute due to cost.

So far Steel here's the set up I'm using. I'm still trying to tweak it to my liking though. But so far it's working great. Here's the channel set up then.

Front: Blue +3
Rear: White +1
Center: Green +6
Sub: Blue +2

I can hear the enemy's foot steps/reloading from a good half sprint distance away (estimated at least). Again I'm still tweaking it.

I have 2 sets of the AxPro headsets and love them very much ! Playing games, movies and listening to music they are awesome. This is another reason I like them so much "CUSTOMER SUPPORT!" . Here's my story .I broke a pin that is in the cable that goes into the decoding box. With it broken I was not able to get the base sound. so I bought a new set 154.00 plus tax after I said to myself why even bother calling them if my headset was out of warranty by almost 2 years. After I bought them I remembered when I had my first set I had a problem with the mic boom I called them and they immediately sent me not 1 not 2 but 4 flexible mic booms(new design). the one that came with the set I bought had a old design mic boom from what they told me. So keeping that in mind I decided to call them and tell them about the broken pin in my old set," now remember almost 2 years past the warranty" . Once I told them my problem they asked for my address and sent me a new headset. No questions asked about when I bought them ,or even proof of purchase. Now that's customer support and also why I have 2 sets . I guess I could have returned the set I bought but two is better than one . One for 360 and the other for PS3 ! HA HA HA !

So far this has been a great headset. No complaints. I was gonna wait for the XP500s or to see if there'd be a good price on the COD branded Deltas, but one was a PX5 with green and a $30 dollar Xbox adapter included and the other had a COD paint job of the for a huge markup. Fuck waiting until Oct to pay more. Snagged these puppies for $212 and boy do they deliver. Nothing is gonna replace a true 5.1 system and I'm no audiophile. These headsets do provide great directional sound at CD quality. Plus my wife is no longer bothered by my gaming or movie watching as she studies. My kid can go to sleep in peace and quiet as well. Gears 3 has been my only audio test. I contemplated the X41s but the tech was from 2009 and the hiss complaints made a purchase hit and miss. So far no hiss and I'm dual broadcasting at A(for 360) and G(PS3,laptop) with no interference. You can also toy with the settings by hooking it up to your computer but once again, I'm no audiophile so I won't risk messing it up just yet. Preset 4 works for me(+Bass & + Treble). It's up to devs to release master presets for their games and so far Dead Space 2 and the soon to be released Ace Combat have presets on the site for download. I like the feel of having a future proof headset that can be updated via software. Post questions if you have em. Pics were taken by my phone at 6am so sorry for the quality.
