My kind of guy. Wish I could do something similar to the jack-offs who park illegally in handicap parking spots. ;)

I do wish the mayor here in Hoover would do that, we got a NG armory near by with some old m113s infantry carriers he could use.

On the topic of my earlier post tho,
It drives me absolutely BONKERS! when anyone refers to ANY armored vehicle as a "TANK" especially people in the Army or Marines who "should" know better.

I mean COMMON! There is a BIG difference between a TANK (I even took the time to find a Lithuanian T72) see attachment

and a Wheeled APC! GAH!! see attachment.

even our service and support MOSs should know how to navigate and ID possible threat vehicles. Lets not forget the Jessica Lynch incident, what happens when units are properly trained on their weapons, and mounted navigation.....

I know its cold and a little heartless, we would use that as an example to motivate new pvts to maintain their weapons (mainly the crew-serves).
Less soldiers would have died, and they could have even repelled the Iraqi Platoon if those transportation soldiers had maintained their weapons.... more than half of their .50's and small arms didnt function with they got lost and ambushed by the Iraqi unit.

ok, I'm done ranting...

I was artillery and then changed to HIMARs. So I know absolutely nothing about tanks or APC's. Unless you're into it and or actually cared to research it, chances are most people will not know. Just because your are in the military though doesn't mean you know every vehicle, aircraft, and ship out there...

So if it's big, drives like a tank, looks like a tank, and smells like a tank. Well damnit it's a tank to me buddy!

Its ok saviger, remember he was recon unit, I take a guess that he still has a couple of decks of vehicle rec cards around the house and maybe a set of aircraft.

How do you know me so?!?
I got a vehicle deck in my laptop bag, my small arms deck is in my computer desk drawer at home :p

We would get to do some extra PT if we didn't have our vehicle deck, and the smalls arms deck on us at all times.

Friggin' A right that was the arm pit of Germany! I hated going there. I went there several times while with 2/3 FA and 3/5 CAV between 1992 and 1994. When were you there?

We more than likely crossed paths at some point. Small world! I remember the OPFOR being dressed like you mentioned.

Yeah, I didn't really have as good of a time in Germany as I did in Korea....but you couldn't beat the beer. We did a shitload of the drunk run, which we called "thunder run" in Korea. But there are some things that would be rather incriminating in those stories. I'll save it for another day.

Thanks for making us feel old(er). LOL.
