Ok i know we try and avoid to talk poltics or religion but i have to vent this out this is total BS!!
for all that dont know ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 or 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and sexual intimacy with their partner during daylight hours and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to God!
we got told a few days ago that for the first time EVER! we are supossed to follow these BS rules WHILE ON POST!!! now ive been in the middle east before and every time this holiday comes its observed off post !! but not on post!! WTF!! they are telling us No eating outside anywhere on post , no PT's , no Shorts, No short sleeve shirts, No Smoking, No Chewing Gum, and a laundry list of nit picky rules all during daylight hours!! they claim that since this is a nato base that we will follow these rules!! HORSE SHIT!! i fought for our country rights to have the freedom to believe in what i believe and not push what i believe on someone else!!! and if im not mistaken isnt Proselytizing illegal in the military..thats what this is as far as im concerned..i remember a few chaplains got in trouble for handing out bibles in this country .....idk
and then they tried us to get us to sign saying we agree and will follow these rules.. a bunch of us refused to sign it...well see what the 1sg says ...he hasnt said anything yet!
but the good news is that since ramadan has started i watched and no one seems to be following any of the the rules and they arnt enforcing them..lol people walk around in pts and smoking at the bus stop...military and civilian's!! god i love Americans!! we dont care!! hahahahaha.. ok im off my soap box....
