View Full Version : My new BO Tritton Pro headset review
First off, they look AMAZING. That goes without saying(but i said it), the setup was really simple and after some games with lady, river-rat, mardigra, shade, and maximus I can say they work even more amazingly. I was able to pick out the footsteps of enemies nearby and act accordingly. The sounds of the game are very clear, let me stress that, VERY CLEAR. I nearly jumped out of my skin when the rockets launched around me in Silo. Now, they are wired headsets but that wont be much of a problem as i wont be running around my living room jumping off my furniture during a game. The quality of the game to chat sound is great as I can customize the settings for the game sound, the chat sound is controlled by a simple thumb-wheel. Once you find the correct setting for the game sound, you simply adjust the chat wheel to your liking. Very simple and user friendly. So far my only complaint is not being able to hear myself speak in the headset. Its a bit like plugging your ears and talking, but that may be a setting I overlooked. The second complaint is the actual volume control device. Its connected to the cord at about arms length from me, and kind of a pain when i stand up because it hangs and pulls on the headset itself. I dont like this setup. But again, its negligible. Overall I am super impressed with the quality of these Trittons and cant wait to put them through the paces.

Variety of customization options
My wife wont complain about the volume of my murder sprees
CONS: Its wired.
The volume control hangs in a funny place
I cant hear my own voice in the headset
4 out of 5 Stars.

After a few days of using these, I have a few other CONS to add.
#1: When your done using them and turn off the power, the lights still stay on. You have to unplug one of the two wires plugged into the Dolby box.
#2: The headsets require you to change your sound settings to accommodate them. By doing so your PS3 now can only be heard in the headset....even when your not playing a game. It essentially turns your TV volume off, So if you want to watch a blu-ray or anything else with somebody, you have to go into the sound settings and change it back.

the PS3 does dual output, you just have to enable it in the sound settings.
go from the XMB>settings>sound settings>audio multi-output>on
whatever the secondary device is will only have 2 channel audio so make sure your tv is set as the secondary and the headset is set as the primary (the one selected in the audio output settings)

It does tell you when you set them up to choose dual mode option. I just turn down the tv volume on the tv when I play with headset, and control game
Volume with headset control instead. Then if you want to watch a DVD just turn the tv volume back up ;)

Don't know what to tell you about that man. Sorry. I've had no problems with that on the 360. Just mute/unmute the sound on the tv is all i need to do. :D

The sound settings you suggested work great Sentry, I can hear footsteps near me at about a 5 meter relative distance in Black Ops. Its working great for BFBC2 as well. I can hear people sneaking up on me in the woods or in a building and a quick check to the mini map tells me Friend or Foe.
I did, however, do something really stupid. When i ordered the headset they sent me an optical cable for the xbox hook-up that i needed and didnt have originally. In the midst of cleaning up, i apparently left that cable in the box along with the manual. So in short, i threw them away. :( im an idiot....

They sent me a new headset after 2 years.Way past my one year warranty no questions asked except for my address .

I'm not happy authorising your holiday if it's going to be longer than a week, you see I let Smoke go for 2 weeks and look what happened... He has barely been seen since!
