What are some of the cars you've owned in the past, including your first car? Which ones were awesome and which ones were not so hot?

My first car: A 1979 Plymouth Horizon TC3. It was very similar to the one in the picture, except mine was silver with black and blue "racing stripes" along the bottom.

A 1990-something Ford Escort that was my sister's and then got handed to me, and was great until I had to replace the engine. Then my current car, an '06 Hyundai Santa Fe that I absolutely love.

My first car a 93 Subaru Impreza. Looked about like the one in the picture. Same color too. Fun little car to drive all wheel drive goodness.

1st car 1986 Ford EXP...had it six months and friend flipped and wrecked car..
after that had to share with step sister 1986 ford escort station wagon...
then my grandmother gave me her 1984 full size Thunderbird...god that was a big car...
my very first car i bought myself was a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 non turbo..i loved that car...traded it in for my 96 ext cab Dodge Ram...with the 360 under the hood.. and bought a 2006 ford expedition which i just paid off.. and hoping to get my Dodge Charger when i get home!!!

*damn timmy totaly missed out on the cars i owned in Germany!!....*
1984 Ford Granada.... solid gold color...ran this bitch in the ground blew up on a return trip from Guns and Roses Use Your Illusion Tour in wurzburg
then i got my hands on a pristine BMW 325....no i ether completely carburetor!! sold that after a year and bought a 325i that looked like total garbage but ran like a rape ape!

like Crusty, I started out with a hand me down white 90-something Ford Escort. had the transmission rebuilt but still didn't last all that long. Got another used vehicle a few years later, an old Nissan pickup. I think that was seriously the model name, pick up. It was made before they made the frontier but it was basically the same thing. then my 3rd vehicle was a 2007 Toyota Tacoma prerunner

looking back on it, i really haven't had many vehicles lol

No that is the one I had our Senior year of HS. I got the Sunfire when I joined the ARMY.

My first car was a 1986 Buick Skyhawk.
It was the biggest POS I have ever owned, and if you ever wanna deliver doom and gloom on your worst enemies, deliver 1 of these to them..

In 1999 I was stationed in Norfolk While it is not the first car I owned it was the first car that I myself with no help bought. 1999 Nissan 240sx, Stock mind you....No cool body kit, or anything like that..........Lasted a week until I total it.. next car was that same year it was a 1999 Ford Taurus(Old Bubble Eyes)...This Bad Boy was Stolen from the Parking lot of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyards...Bastards!!! Many Vehicles since then but my Pride and Joys are my Current rides. A 2009 JEEP Commander and my 2011 Challenger 392 SRT 8. My Wifes car is nice too, she has an A5 Coupe I actually like how smooth it drives. However I wont tell her that because she will then think it gives her the right to drive my car....Hell No.........

My first car was a 1981 Firebird Formula. It was my rumble beast. The transmission was shot when I got it and the guys at Lee Miles talked me into putting a Hurst shifter in it when I got it replaced. It was sweet. Used to race my brother down deserted highways. His banana mobile Camaro was pressed to keep up.

The Firebird was too expensive to maintain in gas due to Operation Desert Storm and repairs so I downgraded to a 1993 Nissan Sentra.

When I started Massage school ( yea I'm a certified massage therapist too) I needed something bigger for my massage table and got a Ford Taurus. It lasted me a couple years before the engine almost dropped out of the bottom so I donated it.

My last and current have been Chrysler Town and Country Minivans. Great for the baggage that comes with kids. BUT..... They re not easy on gas and my commute is long now so I'll be looking for something more economical

First car was actually a truck. 94 Ford F150, in seafoam green. Was a gift from my parents when I graduated, since it had been my step mom's and was fully payed off.

Second car was the following year, when I bought a white 91 Honda Civic. Raced the crap out of that, but totalled it when some old lady ran a red.

My third car was a 98 Jetta, green, and I loved that car......until the transmission went out 6 months later. I called the dealership and told them to come pick it up before it "caught fire."

At this point, I went back to the truck until I left for Basic, when I sold it after the engine blew.

After basic, I bought another Honda Civic, this one a maroon 90 civic, from my sister. Drove that until the day I shipped out for Iraq, when I sold it to a friend's brother.

Came home from Iraq, and bought my 2001 ford ranger, which I've had since 05. It's the longest vehicle I've owned, and the first I've ever fully payed off.

Last year I also bought my wife a chevy Impala. She loves it, and it drives pretty nice.

1993 Chevy Lumina, fire engine red, screamed down highways.

Sunfire, got this after I totaled the Lumina, sold the day I left for boot camp Nov. 2, 2005

2002 GMC Sonoma, 4.3 liter, vortec engine, V6. Bought it in Jul 2007 with 12,000 miles, it is now 2011 with 53,000 miles.

My second car (which I got after the engine in the Plymouth Horizon died unexpectedly), was a 1982 Dodge Aries. I hated everything about this car. It initially had a fuel leak near the engine block, which I found by chance before it caught fire or something. The steering pump had a class 3 leak. Whoever had owned it before had the A/C compressor go out on them. Rather than fix or replace it, they just pulled the whole A/C assembly and left it in the trunk.

I remember anytime I hit a bump or pothole, it felt like the whole care would fall apart. The constant velocity joints had to be replaced a couple of times. My dad had actually bought it for me while I was in high school, and when I graduated he gave me the title to it as my graduation present. I was like "Ummm...thanks?".

Thankfully, they sold it once I went to Korea for my active duty station in the Army.

It was similar to this one, except the color was a puke beige.

Did I mention I hated this car?

1990 Dodge Dynasty:
This was my first car (got it in 1999). By the time I was done with it, it was missing on two cylinders (head gasket I think), its tailpipe was falling off, I had hit a deer so the grille was gone and the headlights had broken from their mounts, so they were just kinda set in there precariously, and sometimes the unburnt gas from the two non-working cylinders would light itself on its way out the exhaust, causing unintended shooting flames. It was interesting to say the least. I donated it to charity when I joined the Corps.

1999 Saab 9-3 2.0t vert:
Nothing but problems. Turbo seals went and blew oil out the exhaust like nothing I've ever seen before, coil pack problems, transmission issues, convertible top sensor problems, convertible top motor problems, and convertible top leaking problems. Needless to say, that was and will always be my last convertible.

1979 BMW 320i:
Rust rust rust rust. Bought it for $100 with a non-working clutch. The owner wanted me to just get rid of it for him. Put a new clutch in and beat on it for quite a while.

1998 BMW M3 sedan:
Loved it quite a bit. It mowed down a tree (1.5"-2" in diameter!) and did not survive (!!). I had a lot of mods invested in it, but GEICO was kind enough to let me pillage what I could before it went to salvage auction. After it snapped the "trunk" of the tree, the resulting stump gouged a gorge into my unibody underneath the passenger footwell all the way to the transmission tunnel. This is why it was totaled I guess (along with fender, subframe, and suspension replacement on the front passenger side).

1986 BMW 325e coupe:
Bought it for $500 cash. Replaced the water pump and distributor cap, and it was a real workhorse and surprisingly fun beater to have. Sold it to someone for $500 cash when I left San Diego. The guy called me up on his way home to thank me again, I guess I could have gotten a lot more for it (espeically considering the work and mods I had put into it).

1968 Pontiac GTO:
Project car. Bought it as a non-rolling chassis. Slowly built it from the ground up with a 402. In the end, it just needed body work (and quite a bit at that), but I had nowhere to put it when I got to Chicago, so I sold it before I left San Diego. This car was a huge money pit, but it was all worth it when I drove it off the auto hobby shop lot that one last time. The noise, smell, and feeling of driving that car were unparalleled by anything else I've owned. I really do miss it.

2003 LR Disco SE:
Now that was a truck. Great ground clearance, torquey V8, live axles that would transfer every road imperfection to your hard seat, and plenty of room.... However, 12 MPG combined wasn't cutting it considering I no longer needed it to haul stuff. I sold it in 2008 when it became clear it was going to break the bank if I kept it as my commuter.

2008 BMW 335i:
Nothing but problems. Great car when it works. It will be my last BMW.
