The latest rumor is from none other than the French website Gamekyo and it states that Rockstar is indeed prepping GTA V, but this game won’t be skipping out on a Nintendo console version this time around. That’s where the Wii 2 comes into play, because apparently Rockstar has a dev kit for the unrevealed system and they are hard at work trying to get GTA 5 ready for the new console’s launch.

This rumor says the soonest we’ll see Grand Theft Auto 5 – and Nintendo’s new console – in action is at this year’s E3.

Grand Theft Auto V is being made, and a trailer will be released on November 2. That's all that maker Rockstar is willing to announce of the new core entry in its open-world murder simulator series at this point, but with a name bearing such clout, it's certainly enough for now.


Rockstar made the announcement by replacing the main page of its website with a huge GTAV logo. Deprived of our precious press releases, we can't tell you platforms, a release window, game details, or anything beyond what's on that page. However, Rockstar's recent pattern has been to release games on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 first, followed by PC a while later.

A report from industry analyst and Newzoo CEO Peter Warman imagines that the release of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 will be download only. According to Warman, download only releases would allow publishers to "launch games faster, create continuous revenues on a title and simply to make more money."

In Warman's vision of the future, you'll still be able to buy GTA 5 in stores, but you won't be buying anything but a number. "Retail will always remain an important channel to promote and distribute games. Retail has a strong hand to play when it comes to eyeballs and… boxes make a nice gift. Boxed games will not disappear, but what is in the box will. That is why the boxed GTA V version will contain a collectible piece of merchandise and a download code. No disc," Warman said.

With all due respect the NewZoo and Peter Warman, I doubt Grand Theft Auto 5 will be download only. The speculation here at G4-central is that Grand Theft Auto 5 could be released at the end of 2012 -- no inside knowledge; that's just our best-guess, judging by the timing of the announcement and Rockstar's previous release schedule. That means Warman is predicting (or envisioning) a total industry re-alignment in the next year.

While it makes a certain sense in terms of ease-of-use, on the other hand, many, many consumers buy boxed discs and like it that way. I seriously doubt Rockstar/Take 2 will offer up their flagship title on the altar of an experiment in changing consumer patterns. Not to mention the logistical nightmare the download times and network stability would create on launch day, the extra money spent on "re-educating" more casual consumers on downloads, and a thousand other hurdles that I don't think anyone wants to jump in the next year or so.

I think he greatly overestimates the difficulty of downloading a game. A better arguement would be the limitations created by this for the console market.

Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be set in its fictional world of San Andreas.

San Andreas is a fictional U.S Southwestern state which includes three cites based on real U.S cities - Los Santos, (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). Rockstar has a habit of tweaking its cities, and GTA V is set in modern day, so it's possible that area names and the city's layout will change.



Previously, it has only appeared in one game - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which came out in 2004. That game was based in the early 1990s against a a backdrop of drug crimes and gang warfare. It drew heavily upon cultural references such as the movie Boyz n the Hood and musical influences such as Tupac.

San Andreas differs from GTA 4's Liberty City not only in that it comprises three cities - and rural territory between them - but also in its heavy California culture.

GTA: San Andreas remains the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time.

There are a handful of ao games.....but since ratings are voluntary and ao games tend to be made explicitely for porn, its pretty rare. Which is why there are so few.....beyond the fact that both retailers and consoles tend to not allow them.

Nvidia Suggests GTA V Coming to PC "This Fall"

Nvidia has suggested Grand Theft Auto V will be available on PC "this fall" after including it in a list of games coming to the platform later this year.

At its most recent earnings call (transcribed by SeekingAlpha and spotted by CraveOnline), the company's senior IR director Chris Evenden listed Rockstar's upcoming title alongside other games headed to PC soon.

"The PC market is evolving," he said, "as entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow. The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet.

"In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV."

Now, it's possible that Nvidia's claim was made in error or based on the assumption that Grand Theft Auto IV eventually made it to PC, rather than the company knowing something we don't. Having said that, the evidence is certainly mounting that a PC version is on the cards, from retail listings to job postings.

What's more interesting then is the claim that Grand Theft Auto V will make it to PC "this fall". There was an eight-month gap between GTA IV going from PS3 and Xbox 360 to PC; if a similar lapse is observed this time round, we shouldn't expect the game before the middle of next year.

At this stage though, the smart money is on a PC port happening. The question of when, however, is up for debate. What do you reckon? Is it realistic to hope for GTA V on PC this side of Christmas, and would you be tempted to get that version over a console one? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Ok I need to jump in here and say I am going to get this game after watching the last few videos on the YouTube about multiplayer. That is a huge factor for me in any game I get and this looks to be heavy on that side of things. Here's what happens. If you use a stolen car to do a mission and you're not able to return to it, it will be impounded. The impound only holds two cars, so of you do it again while two cars are impounded you lose the car. You can also buy a vehicle with one character, then steal it with another and put it in your garage.

Rockstar is investigating a bug that causes cars in Grand Theft Auto 5 to disappear after being parked in a garage. The glitch can erase a car "if you drive another character's personal vehicle," and for now Rockstar suggests players avoid parking in a garage, driving a car found in a garage or driving a default vehicle, at least not "when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades."

You can only have five vehicles in your garage, and I believe two in your safe house garage. If you have more in your safe house, when you remove one, the third sometimes reappears.

Yeah I lost 6 cars from safe house garages and after I finish I run to check if they have re-appeared, but it hasn't happened. Hell I haven't seen Franklin' car or motorcycle in while either!! I am gonna pull up an earlier game save and see if the cars are in the garages or if they are completely gone.

Well after grinding out little jobs and missions i finally was able to get my 130,000 house! That took forever lol...... I also found best way to sneak way in to base and get the jet in online mode- ........ Take helicopter fly from the south entrance very low and skim over the fence.... Then slide down in from of jet ... No stars until ur feet hit the ground... Then hop in and fly low out then dip down in swamp are to the ocean and burn it till u out run them :) an u have a jet!

I ran 1 mission over and over again last night and bought the $400k apartment and made it to level 19. Guess I'll have to find a similar mission so I can trick out my guns and car. Right now there are no real additional benefits for leaders, but later if we want to compete with other clans, I believe you need a leader to set matches, we have people that playing at all times throughout the day it would be helpful to have people available in game for whatever may arise now and in the future... Don't really see how adding people into nth highly stratified crew hierarchy hurts anything.

Crew logos are an issue on Rockstar's end. There's been one loaded since day one, and if you want it changed, just ask since it takes multiple days to load currently.

As far as more admins go......currently the only thing that they will be able to do is add more emblems. When there's a need, it'll be re-evaluated.

Finishing with PS3, there is no split between ps and xbox.....one crew to rule them all kind of thing. So if you want more PS3 participation, get more people in.

Just found a way to pad the leveling and make some cash. It takes some grinding but if you click start and go to online click host a job. Now from here you will go to Rock star created or whatever and find the job criminal report. Edit it to Super race type and 1 lap. You can race it and finish in about 35 seconds and win.it can be done solo but if you race with friends you can bet on the winner and win an extra 1,000$. We gained about 4 levels and I made 35,000$ relatively quickly.

You will know your down with tutorials when your mini map fills with missions indicating you have completed the tutorial. Also they are still having online issues which is preventing some from linking up. That could be the issue as well.

Good question cause we were stealing aircraft from the military base last night. I'd like to hanger some of those.

Couldn't steal the 130, honestly it would take a well coordinated attack of 5 people to distract the military while someone made off with the plane. Until hangers are available i am sticking to robbing and stealing cars. We did have Merriweather called on us and we jacked one of their Jeeps (Right side)

I don't have insurance on any of my vehicles. I just make sure not to blow then up.

I've had others steal my cars and blow them up. So for me I think it's a must. Also had a glitch happen I had a full garage and when I went to tag it a notification came up and said I had to sell one. So I picked an off car I didn't care to keep and after I confirmed it was that car to be sold, it sold my first and favorite car. So sad...

That's why I only play in solo or crew sessions. I don't like griefing.
If my garage is full I usually go in and pull the one I don't want out, then put the other in and sell it at LSC.

Its called American Dream on PS3. Own an apartment, garage and insured car. You'll get it when you buy and apartment because the garage is included but technically separate on the map.
