View Full Version : Am I right or wrong?

OK going to try and keep this short. I have been living with a friend I meet in the VA hospital(Marine). He just recently had a kid. CPS(spelling) is now invisegating them. I believe they found traces of weed in the babies blood. My girlfriend has a 3 yr old son that lives with us also. We are afraid CPS will inviestage us also. We have not done anything wrong and never will to her son, but we are afraid because we live with them. Like the old saying-"You are who you hang around"
Also we have a drive way. We both park our trucks in the drive way and I park my second car on the side of the road. The past 4 days someone has either taken my parking spot or has blocked me. I brought this up to my roommate 2 days ago. I told him his friends need to start parking on the side of the road or start paying rent. He said he would handle it. I told him if he does not I would block that person in with my huge truck and leave in my 2nd car. Not even 24 hours later someone is parked in my parking spot. I block them in and leave. (like I said I would). I get a call 30 minutes later asking why I did that and I told him because I said I would and if it happens again, I will do the same if not more. At that point he told me to find a new place to live. Which I will know in 24 hours if I get approved for the new place. I just feel like it is common courtesy not to park in someone elses parking place or not block them in. Am I asking for to much? I kinda feel bad because he can not afford the place without my help, but he is the one that asked me to move out.

You know what you asked him nicely so you're not wrong. You did what you said you were gonna do. So if he wants to kick you out then he's just being an ass. It s not going to be your problem anymore if he can't pay the rent himself, let his friends help him. Also you won't have to worry about CPS investigating you if you and your gf are on your own now. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't feel bad. If you were paying rent, and his friends are taking your parking spot, then blocking them in seems pretty fair to me. You also gave him prior warning. I hope things work out for you.
Hmm. I'm gonna go with....Fuck him. Yea, fuck him is the right answer.(apologies for the language)

Hey Rec
Listen...you have a son...the guy is a complete dick and takes drugs...move out!
He's doing you a favour! As hard as that might be logistically...nothing is more important than your son and his wellbeing and quite frankly I personally would do anything within my power (and beyond in fact) to give my kids a safe and secure home and life.

I'm new here Recon, but I go with the rest of them. You, your girlfriend, and especially the kid, don't need that kind of grief hanging over you. Time to evac man.
I agree, leave him in the rearview.

What Lady said. A lot of us are parents here and we'd all put the best interests and safety of our kids first. I know you feel the same way.
Good luck with better housing arrangements. Hope it works out for you.

I have to back a lot of what people have said already. Move On and don't look back. It sounds to me he isn't a good person anyway. I mean if his baby had weed in it's blood... that should be the 1st clue. CPS here where I am at would investigate where ever the baby goes. So, if they are the same way in your area. I wouldn't be surprised that you would be involved in the investigation. It really sounds like a situation you should just walk away from.

Thanks all. It is what I was thinking. Looked at a place today and loved it as soon as a saw it. Should know by tomorrow if I get the place. If I get the place I will move in within 14 days from now. And I want to be there by next weekend. Yea I really do not need that kind of stupid shit around me. Will cost me more money of course, but I think it is more then worth the comfort of not needing to worry about what my roommate is doing and how it might affect me.

Yup move the hell out of that situation. I know I wouldn't want my son anywhere near that mess! I would move and not even worry about trying to fix the friendship.

Plus she was a navy officer, PT in the reserves, so any time she can bust on her enlisted Marine husband she loads it on.

LOL!!! My wife says the same thing!! LOL!! Semper Fi!!
Never regret doing the "right" thing. The "right" thing is never the "easy" thing..
Its what separates us from being civilized and living in anarchy. ;)
Just keep that in mind.
IMO - You asked nicely, you told him what you were going to do if it happened again(Justified if your PAYING to live there), and you acted on your threat consistent with what you said you were going to do.
If they aren't paying to park there, they are freeloading. (all they had to do was be a little more courteous to the people who were paying to live there.)
IMO - you were in the right from the beginning of the story, and are still right now.

The parking situation was annoying, but the drugs/CPS crap always has to be a dealbreaker. You and your family are better off out of there.

Two important things:
1) Are you a Detroit Lions fan? I thought I was the only one left...
2) Get the hell out of there. I don't know what kind of test they did on the infant, but second-hand MJ doesn't easily show up on those tests. Something's not right. Either they're hot-boxing or worse.... I like how you feel bad about leaving your roommate hanging out to dry financially, it means do have a good bit of compassion. However, fuck that guy. Don't feel bad about it. Leave him to go ahead and fuck his own family's life up, not yours too.
Best of luck.

I am a HUGE Lions fan! I thought I was the only one left!
Glad you're getting out, don't need to be around the drugs. Keep us posted.
I am going to go with the general flow of this thread and say you are better off moving out man. Personally I think blocking them in with your truck was a bit too nice, but that's me.
I don't have kids yet, but I know if I did, I would do whatever I could to keep them safe. Plus that dude seems like a dick and there is no telling what other kind of sheet he is into, that CPS investigation may turn more sour than even he realizes.
You did good with the truck,
now GTFO of there

Good deal. Unhealthy situations are much easier to come across than those that are comfortable and positive.
Whenever one gets in your way, immobilize it and continue forward.

You made the right choice. You've got that grief behind you and a lot better environment for the kid and your girlfriend. Keep looking forward.
