They say " Once a Marine, always a Marine". For those who don't understand this or believe it, well it's true. The momment you Graduate, heck the momment you get to Paris Island, till the day you die, You never walk the same; You never talk the same; you never think the same; you never eat the same; You never sleep the same. You see 110% of every detail of life, not 100%. Your dreams are different.... Your daydreams are different. You treat People differantly. You treat life and death differently. Why? Cause the Marines made you. First day of boot camp they take everything your momma gave you away, inside and out. They break you like one breaks a wild horse. Then they carefully and methodicaly spend every hour of every day rebuilding you into a Marine. The only way off an Island surrounded by swamp and gators is to become a Marine. Those who've tried to leave by any other means are never heard from. So the next time you see a veteran Marine. Understand one thing. Never say he/she used to be a Marine, or ex-Marine. Understand They are a Marine, and ALWAYS will be. Nothing will ever take that away. And Nothing or no one better ever try.
