Report – Guerrilla making “Killzone follow-up”
Guerrilla is working on its fifth iteration in the Killzone series, the latest issue of Edge is reporting.

It isn’t merely called Killzone 4 – yet – but rathter as a ‘Killzone follow-up.’

The magazine say (via Gamerzines) the “bulk of Guerrilla’s staff (is soldiering) on with the next Killzone instalment.”

Steven Ter Heide, senior producer on Killzone 3, is game director, supposedly.

Guerrilla studio recruiter Adrian Smith is quoted in the mag as saying that “we’ve got to continue the Killzone franchise.”

No platforms are mentioned, but Edge reported online earlier this week that one studio within SCE’s Worldwide Studios had stopped PS3 work to begin on a PS4 project. It’s possible that Guerrilla could be that developer.

Sony and Guerrilla released Killzone 3 for PS3 back in February this year, but the studio’s also been working on a new IP as well.

The new property is being directed by Killzone 2 and 3 director Mathijs De Jonge, according to the mag (via CVG).

The only other title announced to date in the shooter series is its Vita iteration, being done by Studio Cambridge.

Rumor: Sony Crafting New Killzone Teaser
But what platform is it for?
May 7, 2012

here's little doubt at this point that Sony intends on continuing the Killzone franchise in a major way. Here's what we already know: Sony-owned developer Guerilla Games, the studio that created the Killzone franchise, is spearheading three Killzone titles with the help of fellow first-party studio Sony Cambridge.

Guerilla confirmed at GDC that Killzone titles are in the works for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Perhaps the third game is for the yet-unannounced PlayStation 4? It's all conjecture at this point.

But according to Siliconera, Sony may be ready to show the next Killzone game very soon. "Sony Computer Entertainment is recording a teaser for a future Killzone game," Siliconera reports with information from an unnamed source. "The upcoming title takes place after the events of Killzone 3."

Siliconera has text purportedly from the voiceover from the trailer. The voiceover, according to Siliconera's source, was written for a female "who has ties to the Helghan Autarch."

The site notes their source can't (or won't) pinpoint whether the trailer is specifically for the PS Vita iteration of Killzone. However, referring to the game as taking place after the events of Killzone 3 points us in the direction of a possible Killzone 4 for PS3, per Guerilla Games admitting that it's working on an unannounced Killzone title on PlayStation 3.

Rumour – Killzone sequel in production, teaser script leaked
Sony is busily working away at marketing material for the next Killzone, whispers suggest.

Siliconera cites an anonymous source for the following lines of dialogue, written for an upcoming teaser trailer:

“My sons and my daughters, today we take the first step toward our imperial future.

“For years, this once-great nation has stagnated in the shadow of its enemies. Governed by scoundrels who flaunted the ideals established by my father, these traitors… these enemies of our race have diluted and exploited the triad of Duty, Obedience, and Loyalty.

“This regime, this corrupt regime, has been dissolved. In its place does rise an era of stability and strength. A time of opportunity born from a promise that we shall return our people to their proper sphere of dominance.”

The key words duty, obedience and loyalty seem to doubly confirm the speech is a Helghast one, and the source claims a female character will speak them. Aurarch Visari’s daughter.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear whether the teaser points to Cambridge Studio’s upcoming Vita release, or a full PlayStation 3 sequel – or even a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale appearance.
