Here's a close up of the ribbons said **** bag was wearing. Yes, that is a SEAL Trident he's wearing. When asked about his BUD/S class number, his response was, "I didn't go to BUD/S, but I'm assigned to SOCOM, so we get to wear the Trident (I guess no one told him that he's wearing a mini-Trident). And yes, he is wearing a Marine Reserve ribbon ABOVE his Silver Star.

yeah, if it was a costume you are not allowed to wear any authentic ribbons, badges, devices, rank insignia, or EGAs unless maybe you legitimately earned them, and if that was the case you would still be required to display them within regulation standards. USMC reserves ribbon takes precedence over all his other ribbons, including a silver star? lol yeah ok.

I guess the other thing that is so, frankly shocking about this is how many fuckers there are out there doing this crap. There is the very obvious reasons that this gets under my skin and makes me want to drag one of these clowns through the streets by his neck.

Then there is this other side to this where I get even more angry because the idea of committing an act like this is so foreign to me that I can't even get my head around what would motivate a person to do it.

Especially when it's not like you need a act of congress to enlist. You go down to your local recruiting office and sign up. Barring serious physical or mental issues you will get to opportunity to follow in the footsteps of others who came before you.

It shines a particularly bright light on the cowardice of people who wear a uniform that they know they have no right to.

You know, this actually makes me more sad than angry. When I got ETS'd (is that even a word? Christ I'm getting old) I got out on Sept. 1st, 2001. That's right, ten days before the shit hit the fan. I actually saved up some leave days and had them buy me out and partied with my paratroopers in a hotel for 4 days and came home to Chicago on the 5th of Sept. When 9/11 happened I was glued to my TV and I couldn't get through to Bragg on the phone, they were on high alert and all calls into the base were cut out. When I did get through to see if they wanted me back, I was told to hang tight and we'll call ya if we need ya.
They never called and I went on with my life and started school. BUT the moral of the story is the biggest fight I ever had with an ex, was for my B-day she took me to a monster truck show, (Gravedigger is still the king) and they called on all veterans to stand and be recognized. I stayed sitting. When my ex grilled me about it, I told her I just couldn't take credit for something that I wasn't a part of.
"Well you served didn't you?"
Yes.
"Well, why not stand and be recognized?"
I couldn't answer. It just didn't feel right to be in the presence of men who had fought and went to war, while I didn't take part in that.
Don't get me wrong, my time with the paratroopers spent with the 82nd is my crowning achievement in life, something that no matter what happens, no one can ever take from me. But I would NEVER think of pulling this shit. It's seriously a shame.

Yeah, I see this allot in from the Army vets as well. I like to publicly humiliate them with simple questions like; "Hey you remember those fundamentals of Reconnaissance?" Or "what troop did you graduate from?" "My favorite being to ask them about "Fiddlers Green".
I promptly show them my right shoulder (RECON tab over Crossed Sabers), and call them a faker.
