I think the whole thing there is context, if they are being respectful and really intending to pay a compliment (like wearing a teams jersey) I can support it to some degree.

It's always a slippery slope when civilians start wearing the uniform and forget that there is honor and tradition in the uniform they are trying on. That they have to have love and respect for it like the people who wear it not just as a job or a show of support but because they stood up and were counted as Americans who decided that it was important enough to them to do their part in service to their nation and go into harms way.

To some people it's just clothes... to us it's so much more.

Quite a few people think the show is entertaining, don't get me wrong.... But it's because of the fact that we love to laugh at how fucking dumb and nonsensical they are, like watching animals at the zoo throw their own shit at each other.... I don't watch it regularly (I've seen some episodes), but it's really indicative of just how dumbed down our culture is getting (the fact that the show is so popular). The WORST part about this is that people from other countries do watch this, and actually think it represents a decent chunk of America, and use it to bolster their disdain for us.

It DOES bother me that someone gave him the "honor" of being able to wear that uniform, regardless of context, because those people are the last people on Earth I want representing us in any way, shape, or form.

"Congratulations, you have succeeded in making Americans look even dumber and more idiotic than ever thought possible, and we'd be honored to have you wear the uniform worn by Americans who actually contribute to the progression of society instead of contributing to its demise."

I don't normally fly off the handle about stuff, but this really pisses me off.

I have to say, I'm with Clue on this one. This, if anything, makes the wearing of our uniform mean LESS. And I don't think he should be wearing it. If it's a Base security deal, like having him blend in with the troops to avoid unwanted attention/attack, fine. But take it the fuck off in the Green Zone. (Fist-pumping piece of shit...don't get me started on that garbage they call a tv show...)

 This really got my blood boiling when I saw this on TV. The Marine Corps dress blues completely defaced then worn as her fashion statement... She must have gotten so much hell and hate emails thrown her way after this. Because the next episode she appoligized on TV for wearing it. People need to realize that these uniforms aren't fashion statements!! It pisses me off how people can be so stupid.

I see this EVERYDAY in New York. Some punk ass kid wearing a marine or army uniform cause it's "hot" Fuckin pisses me off. I saw a homeless Vietnam vet tear the shoulder rank off of a guy on the subway one time, I gave him $50 afterward and said thank you for your service. These idiots just see it as "fashion" I bet they wouldn't think it was so "hot" if they saw a friend bloodied and injured in that same uniform, or ever been to a military funeral and saw a sea of mournful soldiers. I felt proud to wear the uniform, these people feel nothing.

know what you mean brother. I went all sideways on a butthole back in 91 when I saw him at the airport walking around in desert BDU's acting like he was coming home from Saudi. so in a efficient military manner I "convinced" him to take it off.

this is more shameful than the pauly D thing I think... Most celebs that go to base get a set of ACUs to wear around most times, so it's not that big of a surprise to me.
