Hi All,
First I spent 10 days over the thanksgiving holiday at the 2 parks. If I offend anyone I'm sorry. First off stay away from Disney during the thanksgiving holiday, let say it a mad house. The fast past only can hold 1 per 2 hours, there were so many people there that the fast pass sold out on some rides. Magic kingdom was, ok but kids are getting to old for that place. Animal Kingdom was good, Hollywood studios I thought there was going to be a riot at the end of the night at the big show. Epcot was a disaster so many people I just drank from each country, kids could not ride anything. Now my nasty observations.
1) When did morbid obesity become a handicapped, I worked in hospitals and these people would ride the battery power scooters up to a ride bypass all lines then jump up and get on the ride. Now I looked for muscle wasting on 90% none which tells me they could walk and stand in line. So Take my advice don't tell uncle Nick to stop eating tell him to load it up and we will take him to Disney rent a scooter and bang him and your family gets to go to the front of the line, just don't offer to pay for his food you might go broke.
2) The damn electric scooters, if someone rent them they should go through a 1/2 day training course, I saw a old gentleman take out 5 kids when he had his scooter take a corner and bang ran them over, the worst part the guy to sons probably in there 30's were laughing about it.
3) Fast pass I seen men run over kids to get to the fast pass line, one guy came running at my wife and kids and I jumped in front of him putting my elbow up so it was right in his face if he kept running at us.
4) don't stay at the Disney resorts food sucks, rooms small, I have stayed at better Hampton Inns, Wanted to go in the hot-tub but 1 was always filled with hippos and the other with kids drinking soda, so you either soak in body fat or kids pee.
5) wear good shoes, I ran a Marathon and my feet never hurt like they did after just 2 days at Disney.

Now onto Universal:
We stayed at Loews Portofino great place great beds, bathrooms, places to eat and drink even the pool was top notch and hot-tubs. If you stay at 1 of the 3 Universal hotels to Loews hotels and a Hard Rock hotel you get express pass just show your room key and bang to front of the line. Plus early hours and you need it for the Harry potter rides, which were cool, roller coaster are insane fast but end fast, really not a bad situation there at all. Well now to planning next years time off, I'm thinking a beach house outer banks with a lot of beer.

Also what is up with photos from Foreigners no offense Lady, but good good if you ask me to take a pic of you please make sure you tell me how to do it since your damn camera is in your language. Also you don't need to take a pic of everything, good god if they had a spot of Mickey Mouse shit there would be a line of mostly oriental standing in a 30 min line to take pics of themselves in front of it.

sorry you had such a bad time ....i lived in central FL for a time and found out all the ins and outs ..first never go during any holiday or summer....off season is the best...when you see the Florida resident discounts come out thats the off season...1/3rd the crowds..and Orlando is filled with foreigners you get used to them and the crazy shit they do while on vacation....and the two best resorts are.... Disney = Shades of Green!!!(Active Duty, retired, and Vets only) and Universal = Hard Rock hotel 5 star service!!!

Here is another crazy thing at Loews hotel there were kids 5 or younger that were running around the pools naked, I was waiting for one of them to piss in the pool.

DUDE YOU SAID IT!

My wife and I stayed at the Portofino Bay for our honeymoon and it was spectacular. Literally the best trip I have ever been on. I can't recommend Universal Orlando more highly. Not to mention they have Marvel Island (nothing like having Captain America himself congratulating you and the wife on getting married *LOL*)

While we were down there we got to know the lady working the desk at the Portofino Bay, she was herself a refugee from Disney and she said that one of the reasons she left and why a lot of employees leave is because Disney is so HUGE as a company. (She said something like 500,000 world wide) She said that it is big enough that you kinda get run over by the machine when you work there and that it wasn't fun. She said it was a much more friendly and fun atmosphere working at the Universal resorts ... I think that kinda says it all. We did 3 days in the Magic Kingdom on that trip and Disney and it was enjoyable but not nearly as much as our time at Universal.

Oh and when I went there once for a fortnight, the first week was peak and the second week was off peak...wow what a difference! Same here though at any tourist attraction but luckily my daughter breaks up from school a week earlier than everyone else so we always cram everything into that week lol.

We have family up there so I just drop everyone off at the park and go play golf. Once was enough for me

Sorry to hear about your experience. My Admin cleck was a Disney fanatic. During our tour together in Afghan, he was planning his trip down to the minute. Hopefully you took some frustration out on some PA whitetails.
