Edit: BTW .... is this a brand new piece of legislation? If this has been around for some time and I've been oblivious to it, I really need to start paying more attention.
This reeks of an American made Gestapo that can arrest and imprison any American citizen without due process. I am all in favor of punishing criminals and ridding this country of threats, but didn't we all take an oath when we served, or if you're still serving now, to protect our citizens and preserve our rights as soldiers? I was under the impression that in America, you are given a right to a fair trial, no matter what the evidence and no matter what the circumstances are.

Politics have always been shrouded in misdirection and understatements. This is the main reason why my brain shuts off when politics come to play. It looks to have no intention of being implemented toward citizens but as the editor stated "they could if they wanted too".

my problem with this is now a political party could move active troops, reserve and national guard troops for political gain. Lets say that a Governor Texas election was going to go against what the ruling party and its because of a swing vote of certain minority they could fabricate a threat send the active, reserve and national guard troops into an area where the swing vote minority lives and basically stop them from voting due to fear. I know this is reaching but I don't trust anyone in Washington. Heck this would be a good book.
