This game looks pretty cool. Never heard of it til I took my son to his new friend's Bday party. Turns out his friends dad works for Big Huge Games (one of the developers for it) I'll post more when I get to my computer

Yeah I am looking forward to this one. The experience itself, the gameplay, the vast open world, it seems quite promising for a new RPG. Not super fond of the way T. Mcfarlane did the graphics/animation. I used to play WOW back in the day so I could get used to it... What really bugs me is the races. I dont really understand them too well.

Looks like a mix of DA: 2 and Fable. Pretty interested after the beta.

After officially crossing swords with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and reigniting the debate over the fairness of online passes, it’s put up or shut up time for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The offspring of Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios’ collaboration with Big Huge Games and Electronic Arts, Kingdoms of Amalur releases on February 7 and takes us to a new universe on the depths of despair created by New York Times best-selling fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore and brought to life by legendary Elder Scrolls designer Ken Rolston.

It’s also pretty gory. As the latest launch trailer for the game demonstrates, Kingdoms is looking to be the Fable-meets-God of War offering that Fable’s detractors have always asked for. There’s plenty of sword thrashing, spell casting, and troll bashing to go around, and most of it ends in a good old fashioned blood splashing.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is causing quite the stir within the gaming community. Already receiving highly positive reviews before its release tomorrow, the teams over at 38 Games and Big Huge Games should be very proud of themselves.

What exactly is contributing to the success of KoA? Lead combat designer, Joe Quadara, says it’s the blending of so many game genres together that Amalur has essentially become its own hybrid.

After playing for a few hours, I would say it is a def. mix of Fable (combat, lore-style, interactions) and WOW (graphics *tho much higher in resolution than WOW*, and quest style)

And I dont just say it to say it, there are some things in this game that seem... almost exact. Like the exclamtion points on the map and over the top of peoples heads to indicate a quest start, and a question mark on the map and over their heads to indicate a quest end, or 'moving waves' in water that indicate something is hiding below the water... theres tons of stuff, that literally, I think you could challenge the devs on and they could not deny that they almost 'copied' the idea. (tho im sure they would word it as 'influence' rather than copying haha)...

But none of this is to say that its not a good game. I'm enjoying this game, but as a tip PLAY IT ON HARD MODE. the game is just too easy otherwise. and no, hard does not give you a real challenge, so dont worry. You will thank me, especially if youve already played on easy or normal.
