What platforms are we expecting it for? Smells like PC. I love me some combat sims training.

I think the article said it's just for the Army to use for training.

The above is for Military training only. It is already in the test phase. It is basically a spin off of the EST 2000: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVP4AtCRrjw. They now have a 3D EST 2000 prototype that senses your motion. You stand in a 360 circle or square screen and can move by walking in place. This technology is moving in fast and will be a great training aid for the future.

Can you say "Danger Room", kids?

I'm glad they are updating the EST, it wasn't a good representation of live fire. Or any fire. But it was good for getting out of the hot Georgia sun.

There's always Arma 2 :P And soon to come Arma 3. Always wanted to play Arma but my PC can only play old games and I've only played Dragon Rising on PS3. I can't comment on how well they actually simulate though but Dragon Rising was enjoyable, filled my strategy and shooter game wants.

We'll play this in some form or fashion in the future. Remember that Full Spectrum Warrior was a training tool funded by the Army and became an award winning retail game. America's Army has gotten critical acclaim as well. With gaming being a billion dollar industry, they can reach a wide audience. COD's numbers justify it.

I hated est we had more time in there than the actual range and cause of that most barely qualified and I'm glad they are updating it also and to be honest americas army might be a great training tool but unless you have a mid to top range gaming computer its very hard to move around
