We've got two PSPs in our house, both of them are the 3000 model. One of them has an issue that when the power adapter is plugged into the system, it doesn't show that it's charging, nor can the system be played.
Initially I thought there may be an issue with the battery or power adapter, so I went through the process of elimination and swapped the batteries and chargers between the two, as well as tried to play the questionable system without a battery installed. I was able to play the system in question with a charged battery from the other system (which works fine).
Common sense says there's probably some kind of internal connection issue around the charging port, but I can't be totally sure. Before anyone asks, the warranty is expired and it did not have any kind of extended protection plan either.
