Just a friendly poll about where all us vets' heads are at in the upcoming election! I've been watching so many videos on youtube about all the candidates about what their policies are etc. just wanting some insight on what you guys are thinking!

Personally, I'm for anybody than our current president. I like some of Ron Paul's policy but i think his foreign policy is ass-backwards. I am all for taking care of America first, but to say you are going to lift all of the sanctions against Iran is madness. I guess Romney is the best candidate, even though he's somewhat of a liberal.

until the GOP drops all this religion stances I'll vote for anyone other then a GOP president. No offensive to anyone but when GW junior stood up and said people without faith can also be patriotic, that's when i ran from the party, especially someone who tried anything he could to get out of uniform, come on we all know the military never losses any medical records heck I just got my shot records from the 80's a few years back to see the shit they pumped in me (they told by the VA Dr. that the shot I had were classified, i was like, you can tell me I was there you ass, still waiting for that third arm to grow out of my ass), sorry started to rant.

I like Paul but like recon pointed out, some of his standpoints are sort of out there. Frankly, I am pretty tired of all the pig poop being thrown in my face by these candidates and the non-military, Kim Kardashian worshipping, Gleeks in American society at large. It is because of this that I propose we all buy a couple islands of the coast of Africa and re-start the city-state of Sparta. ;-)

I'm a big believer in the Spartan ways as well. For somethings of course... lol. I'm not into the whole men are for pleasure women are for reproduction thing lol. I'm surprised how many people are voting for Obama in this poll... considering we are probably the most affected group by him. Politicians are politicians but I like Ron Paul cause he's sick of everyone's bullshit just the same.

I make a poor citizen. Yes I choose to fight for this country, yet I'm completely uninterested in the politics that make this country work. I'm so busy in my own life I don't even know who the candidates are. I wish there was a more user friendly way to politically participate other than voting for the guy with the coolest name. The scary part is there are more like me. My suggestion would be some required knowledge of politics before "earning" the right to vote. It sucks some jack ass has the power to nullify a well prepared vote.
Doesnt matter cause once they take office, theyre all the same. Face it boys, the Illuminati runs EVERYTHING!

To want to become President would be crazy because no matter what you accomplish you will never satisfy everyone. I just can't stand Obama, not for any other reason then what has he accomplished? Nothing of note that's for sure. He hasn't followed through with one promise other then repealing DADT and with all the shit we already have going on the military we definitely need to throw one more problem on the platter. You're absolutely right. But what president that we've ever elected given us what they promised us? The only reason im even considering voting Obama because he seems like the lesser of the evils, like every election. True its unfair and idiotic to cut money from your military especially while were at war still. But id rather take a little hit in the bank, than risk voting for someone that will put the country as a whole in a worse state than its already in. I mean, most of the candidates don't even seem like they even give a damn about the issues going on here because they're too busy making outrageous commercials about each other and throwing dirt. What does it matter to me as a citizen whether Mitt Romney makes his finances public? Who cares really? Sorry im starting to rant a bit. Its just none of those guys appeal to me at all. Maybe with Ron Paul being a slight exception.

Without going into all the reasons of why I'm disappointed in the state of the Union, it's leadership and the misrepresentation of our constitutional rights by our CHOSEN legislators, I instead choose to acknowledge one fact, then chime uselessly in...
FACT: Without us, the service members and veterans of the United States, this great land would resemble one of the 11 or so countries who've had their shit completely and totally pushed in by us. Every single goddamn time we've been asked. No president, congress, or government entity has that role or track record. Just us...fucking awesome, right?
Now, on to my cents...If you can do ALL that, surely you can pick a candidate that remotely resembles your values, politics, and convictions? They do represent the people, even the ones they send to war. If the idea of the politicians make you cringe, you're normal. Remember the job these folks hold are steeped in shit that we don't want to smell and it's ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY! All you can do is inform yourself about the candidates and cast a vote. The fighting force of this nation depends on decisions made by these clowns and I'll be damned if I won't shove one in the ballot box just to KEEP THE WORSE OF THE EVILS OUT. Do not shirk your CIVIC DUTY because of what everybody else says about American politics....Need a shove in the right directions? Not many things aggravate me more than a non voting political pundit...Do this if you've never voted or lack party affiliation...
1. Wikipedia the definition of democrat, republican, and independent(choose the closest fitting one)
2. If it's a (D):you get Barack Obama and the US as you've seen it since inauguration
3. If it's a (R): watch the debates, check their vote swing and vote for the one who sits best with your values. Fuck trying to understand what the media feeds you, use your gut if it gets complicated.
4: VOTE!! Instead of saying you didn't have something to do with what your country is doing, you can say you did. You officially have an opinion and a reason to piss on about politicians...
Btw....I'm going with Rick...middle of the road, he knows how to fight, conservative and has excellent credentials. Everything Bush wasn't. He won't win, but I'll give him mine. Newt is Washington trash. Mitt is too upper crust and flip floppy. Ron Paul? Really? He's a frail old man with a sharp mind...great legislator but no president. I don't trust Texas politicians since GW. This commander in chief has only humped the dead moose Bush left. So much for hope and change....

I honestly have to vote for Paul. I know many doesn't like his foreign policy, but honestly, I think the current foreign policy is broken. I think if we're going to hold the world's respect, we should focus on ourselves and improving our society. The trickery, bombing and warring that we have done in the Middle East has just created further problems. We prop up people to rule in these countries just to have to take them out years later. There are a lot of civilians and our soldiers died in the name of what? Democracy? Considering that our politicians are bought and paid for, I can see why some of those countries would laugh at the idea of becoming like the US. Right now, there are children out there in those countries that lost friends and family that may not understand why their friends and family died, but they know it was US bombs or soldiers that killed them. Warring around is just the continuation of the hatred, not discontinuation.
I like how Paul is not bought and paid for and wasn't bred just for politics. His economic views are sound and I think if we want a truly free society, his way is a better way. The other candidates scare me. Mitt is a habitual liar and a fake. Considering he helped run a business that didn't create jobs, but destroyed companies, worries me. Newt Gingrich is probably one of the dirtiest politicians out there. What can you say about a guy who lead the impeachment preceding of Clinton for messing around on his wife and denying it is the same guy who messed around on two wives and lied about it? Santorum would be alright if his religious views weren't so crazy. That guy is the Anti-Christ. Plus I have no respect for anybody who wants to be elected to a diplomatic position as President and their first thought is to bomb and invade countries, which all three has done.

With so much of the political system corrupted by big buisness and the banks Ron Paul is the best candidate. Gingrich is an all out crook and honestly idc if you guys belive in this NWO but there was a video of him Attending the bohemian grove where everything from rape to same sex prostitution to moche human sacrafices occur all that on top of how he likes to preach about the sanctity of marriage but yet he has cheated on all three of his wives?? Every single politician running other then ron paul is the same exact candidate just under a different mask, there going to the same thing no matter what just look at Obama and how hes running the country, I think its all just a big game to keep us distracted. But as far as I can see Ron Paul is the only true candidate for president.

Obama will forever be known as the president to pass the national defense authorization Act which essentially gave the executive branch ultimate power where as the patriot act just gave the executive branch powers abroad. If ytou dont know what the NDAA is yet i strongly recommend you research it. Essentially ending the bill of rights. Were losing all of our rights in this country and frankly im disgusted I swore to protect this country from forgiegn and domestic threats but yet we have the false sense of freedom in this country now. Its all a game. What ever card obama plays in the debate like I ended the conflicts in iraq or i killed osama bin laden none of its true. The president is just a pawn and all these decisions are made by a very small group of people who really control the world. All I can say for sure is that Obama is not fit to be president. Plain and simple for a man to allow United States citizens to be assainated abroad, to have Citizens domestically detained indefinetly for no reason what so ever.. I mean i cant even put my thoughts into words right now cuz im so pissed about it cuz this isnt the America I want my children and childrens children living in. If we Dont change this right now I fear that it will never be able to be changed and a system will be so tightly netted together that freedom as we know it is no longer even a possibility.

Personally I think we as Americans deserve it sometimes due to the fact that we let ourselves get into this mess. Unfortunately its going to take a well-educated generation to buckle down and make the hard decisions to get out of this mess and I don't see my generation or any older ones doing it. :(
-Off-topic response - Sadly, our ranks on here matter as much true ranks in the military, though I wish the pay was similar as well.

When it comes down to it that will end up deviding this country in reguards to the law enforcement and military cause the president can use this to go against the constitution and a lot of people with refuse those kind of orders since its on us soil now if the was some kind of invasion from another country that would be going back to the cold war era where people were just simply erased

Theve been brain washing us for years now, I dont see the NDAA causing much of situation in the immediate future but maybe in five years, right now there just conditioning us to believe that it is ok to go against the constitution, I mean Pres. Obama even stated on multiple occasions that the Constitution is wrong and was for a different savage era, and its ok for people to be arrested because "they" say so, and its ok for the military to patrol the streets, They believe there above the law, and its amazing because its actually true how were brainwashed, Just try telling a random person about the NDAA theyll laugh in your face about it because theyre programmed to do so and it literally sounds insane like the Government will never do that, But With TV Movies music and the media literally controlling them making them somewhat like brainless zombies, I'm not trying to sound extreme but if something happens like an attack to make us so angry like what happened with 9/11 and were so programmed to just go along with the "flow" Its not a possibility its an inevitability that some of us will be orderd to the streets and will take so called extremists out of there homes all in the name of homeland security. And i dont have to tell you that what happened in the last ten years in the country doesnt quite add up we all somewhat deep down know somethings not right.

No matter who gets elected, Romney, Gingrich, Obama.. They all represent the same team they literally are just figure heads, different faces same agenda. All these candiates were groomed to do this, like the to be candidates in the 2016 election are. its all a game put there in front of you as illusion. Google started censoring links that are "Critical of the Government" same with Twitter and facebook. This is worse then SOPA. Whoever is actually running this country ultimately wants our demise, it's time to stop this bullshit and stand up for our freedoms!! Our were going to lose them for good. Ron Paul is winning elections in every state, Media doesn't report him, Television bashes him. It just proves that this whole system is rigged, lol and if you don't believe what I'm sayin all you literally have to do is open your eyes because its so obvious it isnt even funny!!

Who constrewed the information to make it sound like that, Ron Paul has supported Equality for the past 30 years? I mean this is the type of ignorance Im talking about. A racist news letter, are you kidding me?!?!? Do you even know the unspeakable things the other candidates have done????!!??! Not even gonna mention how they belive in human sacrafice and that there should be less people on the earth, but Rape, Child Molestation, Murder? These people are evil man. And you can easily call me a liar because this sounds outrageous and I wish I was lying but I'm not and it literally brings tears to my eyes. Gingrich Romney Obama, they all want the same for the US and its literally destroying the country inside out. IF PEOPLE DONT WAKE THE HELL UP AND OPEN THERE EYES LITERALLY MILLIONS WILL DIE! WE HAVE TO STOP THIS BULLSHIT!!!!!
o n the reason he always gets bashed is because there scared of him. They know if he is elected that they will lose. and I say they because the people in the White House dont make the call. These People arent like you or me.
And dude literally nothing against you but seriously man. open your eyes, there censoring the internet, detaining americans with no rights, assassinating hundreds of americans world wide if not thousands, poisioning the drinking water with Sodium Flouride which is now confirmed to be linked to over 100 different cancers, they put Nerotoxins in almost every drink, they control the banks, the UN, NATO, US, England, there taking away every right we have as americans, there taking away all our civil libirties... I mean this list goes on for ages........... and the evil things these things are reported of doing, like i dont even want to call them people. I could branch on any single topic and expose thounsands of points and document them with proof.

First Executive Order- make Concealed Carry a requirement for all citizens, hey atleast theyre wouldnt be any crime anymore
Yeah...no! Eliminate stupid gun laws, yes, but don't require concealed carry. Then you're over-regulating in the other direction. Just get the government's hand out of my business, but don't tell me to do something even if I'm already doing it.

Maybe he wouldn't get bashed if he didn't put out racist newsletters. Just a thought.
Ron Paul does rub elbows with David Duke...I'm just sayin...I guess I'm a communist to you Paul'ers, but please prove me wrong on this one. I dare you...not saying he's a racist, but his homeboy is...grand wizard type, one each.

I don't even know where to begin on this one. I mean seriously?? Don't you realise the amount of horse shit fear of racism is over Ron Paul??? I mean seriously the King of to b modern civil liberties and freedom i mean hes the one fighting for equality across the board??? Like I cant understand it. Like how honestly can you believe something so obsurd would even cross your mind? and think your a communist honestly?? Bro no matter how stupid and ignorant i think most americans are to the problems that actually affect them I still love this country and everyone in it and I would die for any stranger anyday if it means they could stay an American.
This country has been hijacked by these high treasonist things who i dont even want to call people, I mean our friends and family members whove died in the line of duty died knowing they fought fo freedom and liberty but were letting all the things they died for be taken away??!?. I mean how can we let our friends die overseas and just let these things take over our country and take our freedoms away. I mean passng laws that state they can kill you and arrest you when ever they want our please for any reason what so ever?? ARE YOU UCKING KIDDING ME??!?
Screw it! Harrison Ford for Prez!

Airborne, you don't have to like or agree with someone to be associated with that person. Consider this, Ron Paul is one of the few politicians who believe in the Constitution as it stands. David Duke, although he may be pretty racist, has his uses. He can't hate black people all he wants in my opinion. He can hate or love whomever he chooses. To me, its crossing the line when actively trying to impede on the rights of others that is wrong. In that aspect, David Duke fight for freedoms of speech may grant others rights to be assholes, but at the same time, he is protecting every American right to free speech. Ron Paul is also trying to save our rights given to us by the Constitution. We all work with people we may not like or agree with, but it does not mean that we just stop working towards common goals. In the grand scheme of things, the lines will be drawn between the the greedy, corrupt, power-hungry few and fair, balanced, righteous many. Many of us are upset and would like to do something about what is going on in the America and in this world, but the pendulum isn't quite there yet. Even most of us who are itching to do something are still arm-chair activists. With all of the war-mongering and fear mongering in the world, with all of the hate and greed in this world, with all of the schemes and plots of the elite, the human race will overcome to be better in the end. People get scared of the New World Order, but I welcome it with peace. Its a natural evolution of our existence. I do not like that its coming about through war and manipulation, but again, I know that we will come full circle and the human race with swing back to what's moral, beautiful, and right. Personally, I think if the countries and people of this world would just stop fighting for worthless resources and land to waste, we could look up and go "Star Trek" on this universe and find what the true meaning of life is out there. Its more than just survival.

I could not have said it better myself. I completely agree with you, but my stance on our National soveirgnty is night and day, the New World Order is not being put in place to promote the good of humanity, it is going to exploit our weaknesses. If such a government existed a total control grid of humaninty would be put in place were the ruling elite had say over everything the common man does. The Bilderbergs, the Rothchilds, the Rockefellers, the bloodlines, the people making the descions in this world want Humanity as a whole to be spread thinner, they believe the world would be better if 90% of the human race was not here. They promote eugenics, and ultimately want a world war to trigger the founding of the NWO. We are going to see massive death before this thing and we need to stop it at every possibility.

Maybe so. I don't think the problem is the people at the top of the pyramid scheme. The only reason they have the power they have is that we give them the power. It used to be that businesses had to sell us the reason to buy, but now, like lemmings, we flock to buy the newest contraption that will be obsolete in 6 months with they release the new one. We want things so fast now that we would rather drive a half hour to get fast food that isn't good for us, when we can take the half hour to actually cook good food and save money. My time in the military has taught me that I can live really comfortably off of $30K a year. I spend my money wisely and I can even afford some of the luxuries in life, but many of us out there think of some of these luxuries as necessity. The dollar is meant to be economic grease, not a tool of enslavement and that's what it is has become. It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to realize that we Americans do not know the full story and that we are being lied to everyday. A lot of people out there know it, but no one is going to do anything about until we are backed into a corner. We are far from that. There are changes coming about in the world and if you search, you can see people fighting the good fight. It will catch on here in America and there will be some peaceful agent of change to bring us to a new direction, but history shows us that even behind every peaceful agent of change, they are many violent agents of change out there.
There is no doubt in my head that there will be clashes between civilians and military down the road. If I was a betting man, I would wager that military soldiers will fire on civilians without good cause much like Kent State. If you think I am crazy that an American soldier would do such a thing, then look at our current wars. Our military does not question motives of the government at all. In fact, our higher ups receive big pay-offs from the Military Industrial Complex. War is profitable for those high up on the chain. We are all brainwashed to some degree, even before basic training. If you speak out in the military, it affects our earning potential via promotions and pay. If you act out of line, they can even take away benefits and affect your ability to get services and careers down the road.
War is ugly. It does no good whatsoever most of the time. Our wars right now are a joke. We went into the Afghanistan to root out Osama and to take care of a "terrorist friendly" government. Osama wasn't there and now it looks like we will be handing the control back to the Taliban. Saddam was an asshole, yes. A dictator? Yes. A dictator we put into power. We went in for claims of WMD's and found none. Its funny that everyone knows North Korea has them, but yet we didn't go in after them there. At least Saddam was an asshole equally to everyone in there, which allowed for a balance between Muslim sects. Iraq will be a less safer place because of us. Libya.......Gaddafi? The whole Lockerbie bombing was based off of one person saying that he did it. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't who knows. But if you look at the things he provided for he people. Education alone he was a great man. Under his leadership, they had a bill of rights much like our own. Literacy rose exponentially. Something like that doesn't scream dictator. He didn't borrow tons of money to house everyone, provide medical care and give everybody a share of the oil proceeds. He did it on his country's own dime. Its amazing how he house terrorists in his jails, only for us to help a revolution that freed them and put them in political power there. Its funny to me that the two people who proposed using different currencies other than the US Dollar for oil (Hussein - Euro and Gaddafi - Gold backed African euro type called a Dinar) both get taken out. I love America as much as anyone, but what are the limits of what we will do to secure our sovereignty? Apparently none. Its funny how in America that we could produce all of the food we need to sustain ourselves and still export, we have the intelligence to have our own manufacturing of goods to sustain ourselves and provide all with a job, and to have all the excess we want using our own resources, but we don't because that would divide the wealth way too much in our country. If we cared so much about our sovereignty, we would not put ourselves in a position constantly be in debt to the rest of the world. We stifle our own progress by encouraging physical development over mental/intellectual development. Its all about the "Benjamins" in a America and until we in a America realize what is really important, we will be stuck in this pseudo industrial dark age.

It's all screwed up no matter who wins. Can you imagine a time machine and Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Henry, or any of the others showing up today and watching about 2 hours of CNN? They would shout so loud the universe would rip apart.

smh... Only way we can stop the coming climax thats been put off for the last 5 years is the impeachment of Obama, AND I SERIOUSLY CANT BELIEVE THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE SUPPORTING HIM ON THIS MOCHE VOTE?!?? I mean getting past all the ties to Communists and now the death of andrew breitbart on the early morning hours when he was supposed to realease the tapes on Obama. Our President is completely ruthless along with the people he is backed by and working for.. Romney Santorum Gingrich they have no agenda literally there just there to distract the public to not see the real truth. no matter whose in the presidency its going to be a controlled posistion.. I mean Obama is using laws that were put in place back in World War 1 to spy on the opposition of senators and media that were against the first world war. I mean hes passing laws that state HE WILL TAKE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FOR NO REASON AND NO TRIAL BECAUSE HE SAYS SO?!?!? Just cuz he says he can do something doesnt mean there legitimate. The Constitution is what I go by, I mean what are we living in now adays.. Can you all reallly by this ignorant about all this.. Our friends and family our going to die if we dont change whats set to happen. WE NEED TO START CHANGING FROM THE BOTTOM UP. Destroy this power structure they put in place.
The problems in this country are much more mundane than some fantastical plot by shadowy organizations seeking world domination. Or a president who is trying to turn the country into a fascist/totalitarian/etc state.
In fact, such conspiracy theories do more to detract from real solutions than anything.
NDAA is a problem forged out of the American people's fear. It is not part of some diabolical plot. It is the misguided response of a government pressured by its citizens to keep said citizens safe.
Our economic woes aren't part of some grand scheme to destroy the current market so that a mythological group like the Illuminati (who's only real historical counterpart was wiped out shortly after its inception long ago). It is due to unrestrained technological growth and corporate over-expansion; the middle class wiped out because of streamlined business models brought on by bottom-line thinking by men who just wanted to make a bigger profit.
It is easier to believe that our problems are the work of the Illuminati, or the New World Order, or that the President/government is out to get us. The solution is much easier when we are resisting some typecast villain.
But when the problems are born out of good intentions gone awry, or poor economic foresight, or misguided ethics it is much more difficult for us to cope. Because the solutions are more elusive.
We will not solve the very real issues in this country by giving in to irrational fear-mongering and fantasy; but by rolling up our sleeves, thinking outside of the box, and working together to come up with real solutions.
This November I will vote for Obama, because he is still a vast improvement over Romney, Santorum or Paul (in my eyes) and because that is the best we can do right now; meanwhile, I will also strive to work within my community to improve things from the ground level, study to improve my academic knowledge and aspire to use that new-found knowledge to educate and inspire my peers through my writing, to brainstorm new solutions, to devise newer and better plans, and (on a national scale) look to the horizon for the leaders who can make those solutions and plans a reality.
That, and a little bit of hope, is what we need. Not fear.

I choose other just because I don't care to much about politics cause everything is bullshit. Only thing that should matter is what is in the constitution and bill of rights that I serve to protect. But in the end people either miss or re enterpurt the constitution for personal gain. Ie gay marriage and some religious groups shoving there religion down everyones thought. I don't care for either but I do know that denning someone the right to marry who the wont is unconstitutional and violates our civil rights. And religion don't get me started on this, but this is mprobably the most discriminated right we have seperation of church and state. That was the main reason three quarters of the early settlers came to the colonies, resulting first state Delaware and second being Pennsylvania both being founded by freedom of religion. So why do I have to here what canadate a certain religion. Its bullshit.
Ok im done ranting. Point being im not voting for none of these fucks so who were want's my vote instead?
