After much thought and deliberation, here there are five weapons that I will want in the impending zombie apocalypse.
1) M4-With superb accuracy under 400m, the quick follow up shot, and the light recoil it would be my preferred rifle for head shots.
2) Mossberg 590 in 12 Ga.- With 8+1 capacity and unrivaled reliability (pump action), it will be my go to gun for anything under 20m. The wide variety of shell choice also provides great versatility.
3) Para-Ordinane Hi-Cap .45-With a 14+1 capacity, solid frame, and great knockdown power this would be my PDW.
4) Crossbow-For when all the bullets run out.
5) Ka-Bar-For when all the crossbow bolts break
As for the escape plan, as soon as the outbreak hits hoard all available ammo, food, and water and run to the hills.

My neighbor have plans I have solar panels and geo thermal heat and air well water so heat, clean water are covered. Food when everyone else goes for cans goods I clean out dog food, you can survive on that. We will then move the big circle bales of hay all around the house cover with concrete no Zombie getting through park the trucks at different exits. Weapons 100's of arrows no sounds also just got a crossbow. Plenty of guns as back-up, neighbors a farmer so future food no problem. Live in the middle of no-where so few Z's roaming around clean out around the house every am burn bodies. Have about 4 acres of view in all directions. Now we live 2 hrs away of Philly and 1 1/2 from Baltimore source of zombie hordes. deal with that if it happens but in winter the Z's would freeze stiff just drive around and pick handle to head, also to save arrows from getting broken in the skull in winter use hose to spray water on Z's so at night they freeze stiff. Protection from Humans cheap man Napalm, cook gas down to high octane cook off all the shit they add, put Styrofoam in to thicken and put in jars with top attached, add a rag with rubber bands, lite and throw when needed will stick and burn hot,

I would drive to post, hit up the motorpool for a vehicle (MRAP, Stryker, Abrams, Bradley, something heavy duty), then hit up the armsroom and get as much weapons I can pile into the vehicle, then hit up the AHA and get as much ammo I can store in the vehicle, and then drive around with battle buddies and tear shit up...after that we'll hit up wal mart and stock up on supplies...

Airborne, I'll see your Mossberg 590, and raise you my newest 500. It's the very definition of anti-zombie, with pistol grip, breaching choke, and "chainsaw" pump grip.

1, NEPTUNIC Sharksuit for just in case any Z's try to take a bite.
2, Benelli M1014 shotgun, handy for those close encounters.
3, H&K M416
4, Colt M1911, 'nuff said.
5, CheyTac intervention M-200, for long distance brain surgery.
6, Machete or Tomahawk
I'd get myself an old school bus and trick it out Mad Max style for when I have to venture out. And load up on razor wire and claymores too.

Gerber makes a sweet kit: http://www.gerbergear.com/Apocalypse/Gear/Apocalypse-Kit_30-000601
For firearms, I chooses 240B, a colt 1911, and a crossbow.

I would have to go with:
AR15/M4 - should be the easiest to scrounge ammo for if needed
Saiga 12ga Shotgun - HELL YEAH! (Don't forget frag rounds, works for BF3 noobs...LMAO)
Glock 22 - same as AR, ammo should be easy to find, and most officers carry, so grab a mag off a dead guy and go!
Samurai Sword - I prefer some distance for my last stand
Guys, I do love my 1911's, but I have seen them fail WAY too much when dirty. Glocks don't have that issue. ;)

My ar and my glock 22 and my Gerber lmf II its a multi perpose knife etc make a spear
Oh and since almost everyone is a zombie I would hit up the guard armory and reserve depots (not the army reserve one cause they don't have much of didly here)

I hate the feel of a glock, which is why I went with the 1911. I would also take the HK USP or Tactical, plus a surefire suppressor.

My recommended survival weapons would include the following:
- 21" titanium crowbar
- SOGFari 18" Machete
- Smith & Wesson Special Ops M-9 Bayonet 7.8" Black Blade
- AK-47 Romanian WASR w/ Nikon M-223 or Model 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD (silenced if possible)
- SIG Sauer P238 (silenced if possible)
- extra clips and 300-400 rounds per gun (you never know)
As for the plan of escape. Find a two plus story building with enough water and supplies on the second or third floor to last a 2 weeks/1 month. Head up to the second floor and destroy the staircase. Kill zombies from second floor.
Thank you Zombie Survival Guide. :D

They follow the sound. If it can be helped it's best not to broadcast to them "dinner is served" and have a swarm of them coming from all sides.
Oh and some type of shotgun, Maybe a Mossberg with competition size tubes. for extra capacity. And claymores, LOTS of claymores.

you can never have enough claymores... and C4 too

Do they only follow sound? Does scent come into play at all? If not i'd just need a baseball bat and a ghillie. lol
Well, first I'll input the cheat for unlimited ammo so I'd never have to reload, and pick a lovely gun with suppressor (Slight sound if any) and just start firing away.
Top that, Umbrella corp.

Silence is the key, plus fire they are dead and would not rehydrate the same as us if you not close to home cook them they would burn faster then dry wood. Stay out of cities death traps. to clear areas just put razor wire around a church start the bells and go to ground. After the bells turn off timer start picking them off from a distance then come back and pick handle the one stuck.

Just as important as having the right weapons you should have a sacrificial lamb/zombie bait in case you get surrounded. Someone slow and fat is best. Shoot him in the kneecap and you can leg it while the zombies go for him.

bouncing b's would create a lot of crawlers, also not only weapon but how you dress, leather or thick clothing to protect from getting a bite, full biker racing leathers would be great for close in clean out of a house. then use a pitch fork stab hold then hit with a axe or other blunt weapon with sawed off shotgun with pumpkin balls if things get bad.

Ok, if any of you really want to survive, get to the West Coast. Get a CB radio once there and get on channel 666.6 to let us know your location for a pick up.
We already have a group of 36 sailors preparing to hijack a US Naval Aircraft Carrier from the Coronado Base when the Zombie Apocalypse begins. Load up as many weapons, ammo, food stores and medical supplies as possible and make haste to Guam.
Guam already has a dock for carrier docking and is surrounded by deep ocean trenches so any zombies trying to walk across the ocean bottom will be crushed. Once at Guam, strategically clear all zombies currently there. Then begin modifying the aft of the carrier to deploy/recover a couple landing craft which could carry vehicles much like Obtained Pilot's first picture (see below for info on my monster of a truck). Once at that point, use Guam as a home base and use the Carrier, landing craft and vehicles to raid for whatever we might need on any coast in the pacific.
My Monster...
Of course, I also have my emergence back up (that could be craned aboard the carrier if there is enough time). For the past few years, I have been transforming a 2001 Ford F-350 Super Duty with 4 wheel drive, a diesel engine, dual rear wheel, crew cab and long bed.
It has thus far been modified by replacing all the windows with shatter proof glass, 2 10k winches one just below the forward bumper and one just above the rear bumper (both attached to the frame) and mounting a 6" thick steel snow plow to the front frame with motorized joints to raise and lower the plow as necessarily and a groove in the center for winch operation covered by a 2" removable steel plate. We have also increased the shocks, installed roof lights facing forward on the cab and to wards the sides on the bed cover, installed a 3" thick steel scrape plate under the motor, increased the ground clearance by lifting it an additional 6 inches from the original 8.3 inches of ground clearance to 14.3 inches ground clearance, and installing an additional 50 gallon tank to the current 38 gallon tank to make a total of 88 gallons. Also, the center of the rear seat has been removed to enable someone to stand up through the hatch that has been installed on the roof.
The hatch leads to a mount for a mini-gun (preferably), but could easily be used for most heavy machine guns. The gun mount also has brace bars to prevent the gunner from accidentally shooting into my truck or the roof lights while going over bumps. I have restricted the rotation of the gun mount to 90 degrees both left and right of the trucks forward center line. I have installed a cover for the bed, but removed the forward part of the sides of the bed cover. This enables 2 additional gunners to access side mounted heavy machine guns that are mounted directly behind the cab on the top side of the bed ledge.
I am currently working on replacing the sides and quarter panels with 4" thick diamond plate steel. Getting them shaped and mounted is proving to be a major headache. While I still have the tow package to work with, I am trying to find a good trailer to modify and a way to deal with the problems that towing a trailer would bring (including 3 more gunner positions: sides and rear). Problems like keeping the gunner positions on the inside of a turn from being able to shoot at or near each other during the turn.
Well, I guess that I didn't get to my personal guns, but heck, I can get anywhere I need to. Next time I get over to the shop to work on my monster, I will get some pictures put up.

Exactly, and we even have a couple Nuke guys to help maintain it. 30+ years is better than always looking for gas.
Besides, I don't think the US Navy has any active non-nuclear carriers.

Thats a man who knows how to kill zombie. Should the plural of zombie be zombie, idk like the sound of that better, but I wont be hiding on some navy ship if zombie come, I'm getting fuel, family and my pick up truck and living one day to the next never staying in one place more then a couple hours but exploring and scavaging maybe settle california way, Itd kinda be like Fallout New Vegas tho so Ill learn for experience and dress like a cowboy, carry my C .44, my 590, my 98B 338 Lapua, and of course my bear grylls $20 machete from Walmart
