ok got the game now going to load this weekend, was looking over the class, what you take on the best classes, My kids want me to be a Republic and I want to be Imperial, just wondering what everyone else thinks.
Well, if you play empire, and on the Shien server, you can join the guild we have.
All the classes are interesting and unique. How do you play, might be a better question?
Do you like to smash shit?, or do you want to shoot from a distance?
If you like to be up and personal, the Sith inquisitor, or Sith warrior might be good choices.
If you wanna rain down hell, then the Bounty Hunter or the Imperial Agent might be more your style.
although, all the classes, have a bit of overlap, so your fairly safe no matter how you play.
All of the classes have pretty cool stories, that they all follow independently of each other..

I'm a jarhead so you know I like to smash shit, I just have to talk the kids into letting me be a Sith warrior or can I start to different one (the kids all into the clone wars on TV).
you can play both sides.. So you can have a Sith Warrior and a Jedi Knight if you want.. ;)

You can have up to 8 characters per server, so there's lots of room for all kinds of crap. Like Smoke said, we play Empire side, on the Shien server. If you wanted to, you could make a character with us, then let your kids make characters on other servers, for either faction.
For the Empire side, there are 4 classes, the Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, and Imperial Agent.
The Sith Warrior is the prototypical Darth Vader jump in and hack shit to pieces badass. Your story is centered around you being the apprentice to a very powerful Sith Lord, and going out and doing his bidding.
The Sith Inquisitor can choose to either go Darth Maul style, sneaky with a big stick slicing and dicing, or Palpatine style, shocking people with UNLIMITED POWAH!!!! Your story is you being a slave who proves his worth, and becomes Sith, delving in to deep secrets of the Force.
The Bounty Hunter, you're Boba Fett. Shoot first, and cash in. You're an up-and-coming Bounty Hunter who's trying to become the winner of the Great Hunt...a Bounty Hunter competition being hosted by the Mandalorians.
The Imp. Agent doesn't really have a movie icon, unless you mixed Tarkin from Episode 4 and Zam Wessel, the sniper/assassin who was trying to kill Padme in episode 2. You're an intelligence officer who's furthering the plans of Imperial Intelligence.
The stories are absolutely awesome, and each class...of both factions, has a completely unique story. I started with the Sith Warrior, and the culmination of chapter 1 was something I'd put on par with pretty much any game story culmination. Up to and including Mass Effect, which is my personal favorite. If you want breakdowns on the Republic side, or any more information, ask away.

They do have some small similarities in gameplay.. I'm not sure I completely understand the context of your question?
Similarities
-You can mash buttons, to make your character perform skills
-You can acquire stats.
- You can level up abilities
Differences
- TOR is open World, Force unleashed is more point a - point b
- TOR allows you to have companions that actually assist your progression, whereas Juno and Kota, etc, just act as sub-characters to the story.
Is this game like Jedi Outcast or Force Unleashed?...gameplay wise...:confused:

We've got cookies, it's totally worth it.
No idea of your mmo experience, so if you like grindfest, rush games like WoW, where the only reason to play is end-game.....you'll get bored. If you like Mass Effect or Dragon Age, and are a Star Wars fan...you'll love it.

We've got cookies, it's totally worth it.

Yeah. If you press O and click on the who tab, you can type "Crimson Legion" and bring up a list of people in the clan who are online. Ask a couple of them for an officer, and let them know that Myzeri told you to look them up. Or track down Smoke when he's on, and go that way.
you may have to look for Myzeri (jxspyder) - as I still do not have any powers in the clan..

/seconded. If you enjoy MMO's, it's worth it. If you enjoy Bioware games, Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Kotor, it's worth it. If you like Star Wars, it's worth it.
If none of the three apply.....gtfo!! :p
