No used games on the next Xbox.

I've been following the rumour that the next Xbox will lock out the use of second hand games. To me it's just pure greed by game developers. You won't be able to borrow or lend games to friends then I guess, and a lot of game stores are going to be hit hard as most of their trade is in used games.<br><br>It could just be BS though, as the systems are in place to do this already and if the game companies wanted to they would have done it already.

my thoughts are: they should drop the games back to $40 dollars, if they are going to do this, thats the reason they said they had to increase the price into the $50 then now $60

Because game prices have so significantly changed in the last 15 years? Also, when did MS mandate what developers charge?

no the developers have stated this was the reason that prices jumped was due to the trade in and resale of games. the game stores make a killing but the developers only get one sale. The other worse thing is the bottom line of the game stores ight just drop out, since alot of there bottom line comes from resales.

You missed the point. Game prices have jumped $15 in what, 20 years?

And no, resales aren't the sole reason that the price has jumped. It's not even the main reason. It's a relatively small reason, out of many. A reason that has already been addressed by most major developers. Which makes the whole console issue here largely unsupported fearmongering.

Hahaha! True statement! But, I'm sure this isn't going to happen, because if you think about it. Game developers will continue to make video games for the old system, thus the problem of buying and trading games we be resolved. If it does go down, don't buy the new game system. Hit them where it hurts the most, their pockets.
