Double XP Question

So I have a question for those of you that have used prestige tokens on double xp... Does it double the XP you get for challenges also? Here's an example of what I'm trying to figure out; say your standard score is 2500, you complete 10000 in challenges, and you match bonus is 3500. With your double xp would you get 22000 for the match or would you get 32000?

I'm asking because I made the "mistake" of prestiging last week and now I don't have all the items that I want for clan ops. I don't have tons of free time to play this game anymore so it takes a while for me to get my levels up to where I pretty much have everything I want. In short I'm wondering if it's worth it to use the double xp to rank up faster or just bite the bullet and unlock the item I feel like I can't live without?

Gotta confess that I have not used prestige tokens for double XP, but I have used two prestige tokens to unlock weapons earlier and I am quite satisfied with my decision to do so. My reasoning was, the double XP option only lasts for a couple hours, and for those hours its a nice little thing to have; but weapons/perk/equipment is something you can keep using for a long time afterward. The two weapons I unlocked early were the FAD and the MSR. In retrospect I would have rather taken the MP-7 over the MSR, but there ya go as they say.

I suppose your question would really boil down to what you think you could use more effectively. For me the weapon was patently the better choice because the FAD just rocks -- it turns people to burger..... and I'm a huge fan of burgers.... and beer.... and hot dogs.... =/

The double xp does not count toward challenges. Only xp your earn in game like kills, captures, confirms, kill streak rewards etc.

Thanks for your input. I've used my tokens on weapons and perks before, but the longer I play the more I find I don't use the things I unlocked. The very first thing I unlocked was the ak-47... Never use it anymore. I unlocked the mp7 and that was the best choice I made. I also unlocked assassin and an extra custom class, but I don't use assassin religiously like I used to. My problem is that I don't have the time to keep trying to prestige until I leave for my new tech school, but I guess that's only a couple weeks away (then I'll have more time than I know what to do with to play cod) at which time it won't matter. So i'm trying to weigh the short term benefit vs the long term gain in say an extra class or a high level unlock.

I did the double xp for weapons and it was probably the best move I made. Got all the weapons I had before I prestige the second time in a couple hours.

I can definitely understand G's point which is what i'm leaning towards. In a couple weeks I'll be able to prestige more and unlock other stuff if I feel like I need it. Cause you'll unlock more stuff by ranking up than just picking one item and that's all you get.

This. double xp lasts for the two hours, or whatever they give you, but weapons last until you hit cap prestige. I used a bunch of the extra ones that we got for other games or as gifts from Activision, and unlocked the FAD, the MP7, and the Stinger. Now, by the time I'm done with the FAD or MP7, I'm far enough along that I've unlocked other "good" weapons, and can completely bypass the crap ones. And with the Stinger, I don't have to wait forever to get Blind-eye pro, or multi-shoot the more dangerous care packages.

Double XP is worthless if you have to spend a token on it. If you want stuff unlocked just unlock gear and have it forever! The only double XP I had was the one given by the clan and it was nice for like the lvl 70-80 ranks but in all seriousness your best hope to leveling up is using Specialist. No joke sir!
