How the hell have you guys not read this comic? I'm mean DAMN! I'm shocked and amazed. It's one of my all time favorites and one of the trailblazers in "Adult oriented" comics. (no, Adult does not mean porn...but close.)
Ok, let me set it up for you. There's this Preacher(obviously) and he has lost his faith. At this time it seems that God has actually abandoned humanity coincidentally, so the Preachers feelings are dead on. Soon after he get imbued with "the Word" which basically is the Word of God, meaning when he speaks, you HAVE to listen. For example, "Put that gun in your mouth and pull the trigger..." a few seconds later your painting the walls with your own brains. It's an EPIC read with great storytelling by Garth Ennis and excellent art by Steve Dillon. Check it out, you'll love it Guaranteed. Oh and I didn't even get to my favorite character...the Saint of Killers. Best character EVER. Yea, I said it.
