So, as some of you have seen, Black Ops 2 should be coming out this November. Do you think this Franchise is just too cookie cutter now or do you think Black Ops 2 is going to be something different.
I feel MW3 is an exact copy of MW2, except for new kill streaks, perks, and maps. I don't feel that they changed enough about the game to really make it stand out that much from MW2.
As with Black Ops, I'm sure we will have the same kill streak system, they will probably bring back attack dogs, shotguns will still be overpowered, etc... you get the gist.
Sadly, I will probably buy this considering I like multiplayer FPSs.

Sadly I'll be getting it too, just to play it.

Unless there is some groundbreaking new multi-player, I am going to be skipping it. I was not a big fan of Black Ops.

Theres gotta be some difference, because I hate MW2...I get killed so easily on it, and I just can't seem to perform the same way. My K/D on MW1 was 1.34, MW3 was 1.16, Black Ops 1.14, but MW2 it's 0.89. I doubt Black Ops will have many new things, although I would say Treyarch has better innovation than IW did.

Ya it is very easy to get killed on mw3 I notice a huge difference this time around. I am hoping black ops2. Is a step back in the right direction for the franchise...

I'll most likely get it as well sine I just enjoy the games. I hope the prestiege shop comes back though and no akimbo shotguns as well.

I'll be getting it. I loved Black Ops more than any of the others to date.

I'll most likely get it regardless, but a couple things Black Ops & MW3 did that I would like to see:
Prestige shop was cool (if you prestige, but that's a non-issue with me because I don't)
Custom game modes - One in the chamber and gun game were great, and MW3 improved upon them a little. I would like to see customization of gun game (i.e. set the weapon levels).
Currency system in Black Ops was interesting and new, but I really don't care if they bring it back or not. If they do, they need to bring back wager matches.
Ability to fight AI for local matches/Combat Training - Survival mode is just not the same. And playing 1v1 is not much fun - much more fun to play against a bunch of bots.
Zombies are meh - don't really care. I do like Survival mode better than zombies
Playercard - the stat tracking in Black Ops was twice as good as MW3 - and the ability to customize your title/emblem a little better would be nice
Keep Weapon Proficiencies
Keep Pointstreak system (counting Assists, Captures, killstreak destroys, etc as kills)
Let everything be unlocked in local modes
Keep the Strike Package systems.
Fix Elite!

Yes to all these.

wasn't really a fan of black ops but ill probably get 2 just out of my own curiosity and because i like all the other cod. I think they need to do a lot of improvements to keep up with IW though in my opinion.

Honestly, and I'm more than likely in the minority here, I actually like MW 3, and appeciate the changes and tweaks they've made to the series. Aside from a couple of small items....stupid weapon tweaks that are necessary, quick-scope bullshit, occassional shitty spawns, and a couple other minor tweaks, it's a solid game that I think drastic change would do more harm than good too.
I might get BO 2, if we have the same numbers and people, but to be honest, I hope Treyarch learns more from IW than the other way around.

I will probably get it. I was WAY better at BO than MW3! Kinda weird to say that. Lol!

Second that, my BO K/D was 1.97ish and my MW3 K/D is something like 1.22. I guess because I can't play as much now, with a newborn n all I haven't honed my MW3 skills, but damn I get raped in MW3.

I hated black ops... i dont know how i feel about this move..
Unfortunately I was on deployment for most of BO play time and when I got back to landside it was in Guam so online gaming was out of the question. Luckily one of my friend brought his 360 and BO that he had sent to us. We played the hell out of combat training and that was fun as hell. I hope they continue with this mode. Also from what it sounds like they are going to make auto aim from sniping disabled so no quick scoping snipers and with their new gun layouts and "charging your gun so that you can shoot the guy behind a wall that you are NOW able to see" should allow for some bad ass sniping. Weapon customization and cash instead of unlocks also way better, and since treyarch is making it and not infinity ward then most of this stuff should be same as BO just revamped and better.
< will be all over this

For the first few months, my K/Ds were about the same (BO 1.15 MW3 1.17) but since Feb, my MW3 KD has taken a nose dive and is now barely 1.12...

I think this new black ops looks dumb as fuck. I have to admit I like the style of the MW3 even though it could use some changes. I don't think they should keep moving it around. Introduce a MW4 with more weapon options and some older maps. I think it could have a running chance.

You're assuming, of course, that this one doesn't have a chance because of the Treyarch approach. That's not a good assumption, as even amongst the clan there are people who absolutely prefer Treyarch's CoD to IW's. While I personally prefer IW to Treyarch, except for a couple of items, they've done a good job in the past of building and improving the innovations of IW. If they continue to do so, they should have a solid game....hence the comment.
I really don't see what you mean by "they shouldn't keep moving it around." Are you talking about the story setting? Because, especially in this instance, they really haven't. And another thing to remember, actually two things, is that the older maps weren't all that people make them out to be. Some of them sucked every bit as much as some of the not so good maps nowadays are. And the ones that were most memorable, aren't significantly better than some of the better maps we have now. For that matter, some of the maps we have now are every bit as good.
That's actually one of the only good things to come out of Activision's push to have a CoD every year. They maintain 2 year development times, and have two slightly different approaches to the franchise, marketing itself to that many more people. And at the end of the day.....BO2 is going to more than likely outsell MW3. Which outsold Black Ops 1. Which outsold MW2. Etc, etc.

Yeah, I slightly prefer Treyarch to IW. I'm sure IW will release Modern Warfare 4 in 2013, but Treyarch IMO has better innovation within the CoD franchise. Besides, I absolutely despised MW2, and because of that, I like IW less.
There seems to be 2 BO2 threads, Mods can we merge these bad boys?

I can't merge to a thread outside the realm.
