View Full Version : Automatic Renewal on Elite

So... I found out that if you paid for your COD Elite service through XBox Live or PS3 "live" you will get automatically renewed in December. There is information on how to cancel this all over the internet for the PS3 but I haven't found anything for the XBox. Personally i think the service is NOT worth any money. Maps have been blah, and Clan Ops have been non existent. If you don't want to get charged when your sub is done, look it up and verify you cancel the auto renewal feature. Let me know if you have any questions but before you move on to other things and forget this is possible, check it out and make sure Activision isn't giving you the bone while you are away.

I think they gave us at least one free month so I think it won't re-bill us until January. I'll have to check for sure.

So how do they automatically charge you if you didn't pay with a credit card? I bought the elite card from game stop. Curious as to see how they are able to automatically charge me

they won't be able to... however if you paid with a card you are on automatic renewal... I found out you can access the member ship and cancel it through your console on XBL it is in the settings area somewhere you just need to cancel auto renewal.

Sweet! No worries for this guy

Yeah I'm definitely not re-upping with this shit. Elite has been almost the biggest waste of 50$ I've ever spent. Almost... haha

In one way yes. But I look at Elite as the bargain package for the DLC and I'd rather get the discounted maps. Anything on top of that is just Icing.

Will elite not be useless though once they release the next version of Call of Duty in November? Just curious.

It's supposed to be integrated with every upcoming CoD, although as little as I've been playing it, I may not re-up. It is nice to get the discounted DLC though.
Anyone who bought the hardened edition will not be on automatic renewal since you just had a code for the 1-year Elite, so you don't have to worry about that if that applies to you.

Well good to know hopefully these clan ops run smoother and the overall feel of elite gets better. Discounted DLC has been cool though for sure.

It's nice to get a sweet deal on the DLC but at this point I almost feel like they should be giving us the maps for free. There have been so many consistent disappointments with Elite that the consumer is not getting their investment back that's for sure.

No, it will track everything just like it's doing now, and it's pretty much a guarentee that the next CoD will have Elite support as well.
As Bullet said, it already tracks BO information, so it covers 2 games already.

Not understanding what you're talking about. If you paid for Elite, the maps are free. The only thing we're missing out on are clan ops, since apparently Activision underestimated the lengths of patheticness people would go to in order to win a couple of pixels.

Ok I understand this but will we continue to receive free map DLC on both?
From what I understand we would get any and all DLC's for any CoD game that hits the shelves from now on. In this case if they are putting out DLC's for both games elite will have paid for itself. But what it seems like is they only do a years worth of DLC and then give up on it. Only tweak things here and there.

Yeah Elite is kinda BS right now. It's a new system that hasn't gotten even close to its potential yet. One day it will though. Until then they're gonna suck that money right up...:highly_amused:

It's a 12 month subscription. At the point you've gotten the years worth of DLC, wait a week to resub to find out if you're going to enjoy the newest version of CoD. It's really not that hard, and you're never "stuck with" anything.

Ya I guess you keep your founder status regardless of whether your subscription lapses.
