View Full Version : [360] New headset help
My headset died or short circuited this weekend. I can hear great but voice doesn't work. Rather than try to fix it, my girlfriend said just get a good new set since you would use it all the time, (no sarcasm)
The help I need is I am going to buy a new headset tomorrow and I always stand there feeling lost and the untrained guys in there cant tell me what I should get. All the "experts" are still in high school haha. So I need some suggestions. I would love the mw3 wireless ones I read guys getting but I am in the middle of my football season and it gets expensive with gas prices these days.
I wish my ps3 wireless headset would work cause it's so awesome.

For the XBox, the Turtle Beach's (X11) basic one has worked for a while for me. They aren't wireless so no need batteries or charging and could hook up to computer if wanted. They were $60 I think, and like I said I have had them for about a year now, no problems.

Hey Teddi yeah your mic was tweaking out today for sure... the X12s are pretty sick I have been running with them for a year now. Just as good as the 300$ ones without the pricey tag.

Get the Turtle Beach PX5s. It's the exact same as the MW3 Deltas without the branding or $20 wireless xbox puck. I have these and its one of my best purchases. Due to the Delta and XP500 releases, they should have come down in price. Do your research but keep these in mind.
Yeah sorry about that. I wanted to try the rocket fish ones out and they did ok for a while. I like the pairs you guys said, I am debating to spend a little more for the 41's for the dss module

Wireless is cool and all especially if you have a charger, but if you don't have, batteries get exspensive quick. The wires that are for my current headset are noticable, but I deal with it and have no problems
Oh and when I was able to communicate after the terrible noise I had my game sound headphones over the free Xbox headset. It worked so I could finish the op.

Yeah, where did you go? I know we had to wait a little while for a game, but we did get rolling. Hope you didn't lone wolf it, cause we always got a spot for you (as long as you're on before everyone else, Kant says)

The 41's are not wireless. They are 120 and they do a lot of surround sound settings. I don't mind wires anymore. But like I said the Sony wireless set I have for PlayStation are great and I wish I could use them on the Xbox.

My bad, I do know there are conversion adapters for controlers (people that use PS3 controllers with XBox, for whatever reason) they might have something for that as well. (Hooks up to USB instead of controller) Couldnt hurt to look if you didnt already

Sanyo Eneloops are the best rechargeables around. Inexpensive and hold their charge indefinitely once juices up. Look em up on Amazon.

It takes a USB dongle to connect to the ps3, Xbox doesn't support it, plus no input wire for chat. PS3 doesn't do the little wire to the controller

Ill take a wired controller and headset over anything. They are generally much cheaper, you don't have to worry about batteries or recharge stations, plus reaction times are quicker etc... all about personal preference though of course some people can't stand having wires get caught up and tangled.

I'll never go to Playstation because my XBox has treated me so well (a little sarcasm) but there are some things that PS got right, like free online maybe...
I got the ps3 for the 3d movies and My son to have for his gun games on the move system. I am getting a new 360 soon, my girlfriend's sister is on the kinect design team so I will get a pretty good price.
I like certain game on both systems and most of the time the ps3 is only used for Netflix, or 3d movie nights

Px5's with rechargeable batteries. Had the px21's and the wires got annoying fast so I took them back for the px5's. Best purchase ever.

They are all the same
XP500: PX5 with xbox wireless puck $20-30 value
Deltas: PX5 with above puck and MW3 presets, case and branding
I searched the net and downloaded the presets and updated my PX5s lol a few days after the Deltas released lol.

Yeah that's why I get confused when they are basically the same. Getting my cable internet wired right now, gonna be 30 megn then stop by best buy for a new router and headset, used the last router for a hockey puck with the kids. I love breaking tech stuff

Damn dude, what is your upload? Make sure you check the ping, I was getting screwed by Comcast earlier because my ping was super bad... I think you're going to be host from now on if you got super speeds.

I've had mine for just under a year, and they still work great. The best part is being able to crank them and drown out the wife and kid. Plus I'm 100% pro wireless, as I utterly despise cables stretching the 10 or so feet from my tv to my couch.
I happened to coach the GameStop kid in football a few years ago, hooked me up with anew set for a used price and then a fake coupon lol.

I went from x31's that had a bunch of echo issues to the wired 7.1 Tritons...AMAZING!!! Dolby3D 7.1 through the blu-ray player and Dolby proII through xbox....
I loved gaming with the xp500's tonight. I am still figuring out the presets. I do love the wireless voice puck. No wires to anything. Awesome. My choices at the 2 stores were limited. I was going to be frustrated when the kid came in from his lunch break and yelled give some up downs, I'm notorious for that haha. He told me about spec ops this June I loved the trailer.
