So there I was with my gas mask on when the giant voice calls all the bullshit for MOPP2 so I start taking off all my gear as jets start taxing back. We we're waiting for a minute for these two jets... when all of a sudden a PAUSE X comes up on the radio... everyone kinda wigs out and before you know it people are huddled all over the place on this one aircraft spot trying to figure all kinds of shit out. The radio calls for an exercise INDEX not a soul understands whats going on but everyone was stoked because we all hate exercises... come to find out the jet went down and his wingman was flying over him... the pilot ejected and landed okay. A 16 million dollar class A mishap for an exercise index is pretty crazy. Felt bad for the pilot but once we found out he was okay we celebrated like mad lol... anyways just a crazy week... I will be on tonight fellas!

SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!

Lol we were in Chem Gear(MOPP 1-4) and were doing war games exercises practicing for chemical attacks etc. by scud missiles and what not.

Pause X = means a pause in the exercise and gameplay and what not

INDEX = the glorious word all flight liners look forward to, meaning the end of the exercise and you go home.

Crashed jet = no bueno

Okay. This story suddenly makes more sense.

Remember the cliffnotes next time you tell an airforce story. :p:D

Um wow I didn't need cliff notes..Pause X and Index are Army terms also...As for the Crashed Jet I heard all about it also, but then again it was local news....Glad he survived and is safe and sound

Don't worry.. He will soon be running the Chow Hall... :D.

Glad the pilot got out. Things get all weird when this stuff happens, everything comes to a halt..

So... End of exercise for you 24 hour shifts for me. We gt the call around 0800 and then we were off to the middle of nowhere to make sure no one dies during the recovery effort... 2300 roles around and the boss says, "oh, we have to wait for someone fancy to come in verify that you guys don't suck at doing your job and stuff"... So now the plane can't even be recovered until Wednesday... All in all, plane crashes suck before and after...

You got that right .. Last one that I was around, as soon we got word that the bird went down finger pointing was running rampant..

Actually, after EOD cleaned up, most of the wreckage was left where it sits. Lucky enough there is a few folks that go out and investigate old crash sites. This guy took pictures. I can't believe that its still sitting out there..
