View Full Version : Quick advice
I play football and 2 guys travel with me and my family to to play. One guy pays his requested amount and hotel costs ahead without asking anymore, the other keeps saying he will pay and then takes a shift that gets him off 2 hours after I planned to leave(with a months notice) We have had to adjust our travel schedule for him 3 times now. My girlfriend said departure time is 4 and dont change. The gas money they pay isnt even half a tank of gas but it is the virtue of it. I want to leave him but I have coached him or played with him for 5 years. Thoughts

As much as you don't want to be rude, your expenses are not to cater to them. You do what you have to do to manage your expenses and they should do the same. It's great you help out with the majority of pay but at the same time, your not responsible for their funding. If they want to play, they have to pay....Ha! I just rhymed there
Yeah told him the time, he is trying to leave work early. I have used that ryhme for years, some immature guys think the team wont work without them and that we are blessed for them to be there. Everyone is replaceable, thats why I work hard to beat my competition for roster spot.

Agree with Rickety. Your world doesn't revolve around them. Since you're gracious enough to help them out, their world revolves around you. If it's a problem, let him know he may need to find alternate transportation. The first time you leave his ass, he'll realize you were serious.

Sad part is, when you help them out so much, they'll get to point where they'll lean on you even more and when the funds get cut. That's when the immaturity comes out of them, as stated when you said the team won't be the same with out them. All it takes is a bit of recruiting and BOOM their spot has been taken. They'll also get butt hurt and cuss you out but in the end, they'll come back crying to be on the team again...hahaha!
