Why did the chicken cross the road ?

So I was driving in my highly dense middle class neighborhood 25 minutes away from Washington DC, where there are no farms or ranches anywhere close to where I live. Suddenly I saw this chicken on the side of the road and so I decided to pick him up and take him home let my dogs play with and all before I called animal control. It looks like someone was taking care of this chicken its feathers we're plucked and nails trimmed. I thought it was so odd finding a chicken in the middle of my neighborhood. That's the thing it was a hen, but I wasn't going to listen to its morning call every morning at 0500 and make the neighbors mad ! Lol

And yes only my mom would say that she almost broke its neck in front of me

I see thousands of chickens a day, then I ship them out. The sad part is when the chicken DOESN'T cross the road. Sometimes they get out of their crates and stay by the plant until the next day and usually get found. Chickens can be quite stupid. I'd like to see a trained chicken
