This is rumored to debut at E3. Just like the DLC and preorder bonus slippery slope, premium subscription companion services will be all the rage.

This is getting ridiculous... Unless they cut down the prices of the actual game, I may stop buying...

Yeah right. That's like a drug addict saying he going to stop using if the price doesn't quit going up, lol ;) J/K but seriously this is herring or of control. I'm not going to keep spending over a hundred dollars a year to play one video game.

I'm tired of CoD producing the same game every year (at least the same MW game every two years) and the content drops being lame new maps. Battlefield however does a good job with releasing unique new maps along with new weapons and game modes. If I'm going to spend $100 a year on one video game, I'm okay with that as long as it's good, which I think BF3 is more than just good.

I'm not. While the game is relatively solid during a match, as soon as that match is over the whole game goes down the toilet.

To add to this the garbage single player that makes no sense. I am not saying COD is better because God knows that shit has it's issues but BF3 is lame sauce lol

I agree that SP sucks, but I play little SP now. What is there 'after a match' that makes it suck?

Are you finally able to leave after a match? Or do you still have to wait until the next round starts? Is joining as a squad still a complete clusterfuck, or can you actually join and maintain your squad more than one in about 80-100 launches? These are some of the "after the match" things that make this game suck so much.

These things were huge contributors to why I stopped playing. Conveniently, they're pretty much exact duplicates of BF:BC2, regardless of the amount of bitching that occured. It may seem kind of silly, but I think that DICE spent so much time focused on the gameplay, that they completely forgot about the systems that get you to the gameplay. Personally, I think that's a major mistake.

You can leave after matches now. Squadding up is greatly improved. Not 100% perfectly, but far better than it was before.

Yeah, River covered it. Mostly fixed - almost never have problems now. Sure, initially they focused more on the gameplay, but they got around to the systems, and honestly I'd rather have it that way. I play the game for the game, not the externals. If your externals are great but the game is sucky (hello CoD, kindof), that's just ass-backwards.

If I'm reading the information below correctly, you'll get a two-week early access to all future DLC or joining premium. I'm assuming that means PS3 premium players will get the access two weeks prior to their normal release date, which is supposed to be one week earlier than PC and Xbox. Am I right or wrong with that assumption?

Report: Battlefield 3 Premium Service Outed
by Jim Reilly on May 30, 2012 at 11:17 AM

It seems a slip up on the European PlayStation Blog revealed early details of EA's rumored Battle 3 premium service. According to reports, the service will launch on Monday, June 4 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Pricing across North America, Australia and Europe are listed as $49,99, £39.99, €49.99, and AU $79.99. A purported fact sheet for the service also surfaced, which says users get access to all future Battlefield 3 expansions two weeks early, unique in-game content, and additional bonus content.

For now, this information is still unconfirmed. Game Informer has reached out to Electronic Arts for comment.

I'm in, $49.99 for 5 DLC that will be about $14.99 each ... that's a win all the rest is complete gravy. Not a bad offering I should say.

Thanks Riv!

That was my take as well. So it would be:
week 0: PS3 Premium Release
week 1: 360 Premium Release
week 2: PS3 Normal Release
week 3: 360 Normal Release
Unless they did something weird and released all Premiums the same week and only had PS3 early access for the normal release, which I don't see happening.

Well it would be 4 map packs since we already have back to karkand. So we would save 10 bucks which still isn't a bad gig.

It could go two ways. They'll either combine week one and two, so you end up with:

week 0: PS3 Premium Release
week 1: 360 Premium Release/PS3 Normal Release
week 2: 360 Normal Release

Or, and probably more likely:

Week 0: PS3 Premium
Week 1: PS3 Normal
Week 2: 360 Premium
Week 3: 360 Normal

This won't happen, because it specifically says the premium users get it two weeks early.

Check the video at 1:03. AC-130 maybe coming as a new vehicle? That would make things very interesting. If it's available now, I am about to buy my copy.

It might be leaked, but I think it's still supposed to show up during E3 this week. I guess we'll see.

You mentioned the AC-130 in those graphics that were flipping through. However, it was the MLRS system that caught my eye. Artillery...perhaps a component of the Armored Kill DLC, methinks.

Again...who knows what's really going on? It's already June 4th, so this program should be rolling out here sometime in the next 24 hours along with Close Quarters. We'll see how it plays out.

Yeah, I saw that too. Interesting. According to MjolnirActual, Premium releases today and Close Quarters tomorrow, but I haven't found anything on that. Can someone confirm/point me to a source.

Well, it has been confirmed and different than what we thought. CQ dropped for PS3 yesterday, with Xboxers getting it 12 June. PS3 regular players will get it one week later, and 360 regular players one week after that. So:

Week 0: PS3 Premium
Week 1: 360 Premium
Week 2: PS3 Normal
Week 3: 360 Normal
