I know a few people run sites and some are interested in starting sites.
I personally stay away from the mainstream hosts. Especially if they claim "unlimited" as there is no such thing as unlimited.
This is the host I use. I initially selected this guy as services that are advertised, are reviewed by a user community. The community is self policing and if a Host sucks they will surely hear about it.
Anyway, This guy is small and servers are not overloaded, as well as you deal with the guy personally and not huge staff or automated responses for issues (I have never had any). He also has good prices and will work with you if you need to upscale.
