I'll read it later, but from what I gathered early on these two twats tried to(say 5x fast) squeeze Activision for more money and engaged in corporate espionage for their new but old pimp, EA.

Whether purposefully or not, G4 has West and Zamp coming across in a much more negative light than most of the other articles I've read.

Activision Case Resolved: No Trial Happening In West vs. Activision
Posted 5 hours 20 mins ago - By Stephen Johnson

UPDATE: 2:27 PM: Activision has confirmed the settlement, saying that the terms are strictly confidential.

In a statement sent to the press, Activision dropped a bit of a clue as to the amount of the settlement:

"The company does not believe that the incremental one-time charges related to the settlement will result in a material impact on its GAAP or non-GAAP earnings per share outlook for the current quarter or the calendar year, due to stronger-than-expected operating performance in the current quarter.

Original Story: There will be no trial in the Activision Vs. West and Zampella case. According to a tweet from journalist Mike McWherton, the case has been resolved.

"No trial happening in West v. Activision suit. No comment from lawyers yet but case has been resolved," McWherton tweeted.

According to West and Zampella's lawyer, dismissals will be filed soon.

The settlement brings to an end the legal case that began in March of 2010, and revolved around the employment of Call of Duty creators Jason West and Vince Zampella.

Settling means they didn't pay up. Also means that they most likely retained all rights to Modern Warfare. Will be interesting to see how the IW employee suit will proceed.

Damn it. I was actually looking forward to this trial. Activision pays out but avoids getting more bad press (momentarily) and presumably keeps the COD franchise.

I can see from both sides...i would want what was supposed to be mine. but on the other hand if they were being shady I wouldnt want to pay them a penny either. Just glad it didnt effect the release of MW3 and there will be no more problems in the future

I read somewhere that Infinity Ward is suing Treyarch over Black Ops 2. The new game has a theme set in the future, which would kind of close the door on the Modern Warfare theme. :nono:

thats bullshit because Modern warfare is its own series within the series. Black ops wasnt even in the same style for the first one. This one is the same way....to compare the two is just wrong

Agreed, but people are going to do it anyway just because Call of Duty is in the title. Actually if I recall correctly, MW2 tried to drop the COD title from the game and distance itself from that name, but I guess fan polling made them change their minds at the last second.

Thats what they should have done for Black ops then
