May 3, 1999. Oklahoma City. Biggest F5 tornado ever. Wind speeds greater than 300 mph. It cut a swath through Oklahoma City, Midwest City (Tinker AFB) and Del City that was a mile wide. Way too close to my house. They can be an awesome thing to see.

The only good thing about WV. lol They completely miss that state! We get quite a few here in NW Florida but they never amount to much.

There was one here in my hometown way back when I was born (1970). It tore apart a church I used to go to. There hasn't been one since (knock on wood).

Really? I would've thought the weather in your neck of the woods would be prime for tornados. Growing up in Iowa, I saw tons of these. Hiding in the bathtub with several blankets covering us became pretty normal lol

Another sort of track... Storm Chasers clogging the roads. This was in April when they were predicting an outbreak...

So how weird is this. This past weekend I was actually in a Tornado, and yes I was in the funnel or the tip of it. Anyway, it is mind boggling that I would mention I wanted to be near one from a far but actually ended up being in one. Maryland and its surrounding areas had a pretty bad case of storm roll through this past Saturday. Never thought in a million years I would have come across as to actually being in one. Ft. Meade had their sirens going off and warnings over the post PA. Damage was minor and next to none on my parents house but I can't say much for the surrounding houses. God was on my families side when the tornado blew through.
