Sometimes you get them when you preorder games or if you follow an upcoming game register at their website and they send you one

Its a lot like building a work resume. U do a few open betas, then u get into a few stress tests, then if ur lucky u start getting closed beta invites. Just fill out the aplication for the games ur watching and log into the forums on a regular basis for that site and ur chances are better. But with beta testing, experience counts.

I have a guy at work thats a game tester, he told me he just applied at the game main website and been receiving beta games every since then. He also told me that he has to send up a report with the finding in the game and other stuff.

Betas usually will be released if you pre-order the game or something along those lines. I doubt Black ops will drop a Beta to be honest there could be some other games dropping though who knows.
