How presidents age

One of the jobs I would never want...President of the United States. As much as I love my country, I don't think I could deal with the endless barrage of negativity and stress. These pictures are from Time magazine's website and show how much presidents age while in office. The article went back as far as Lyndon B. Johnson, but I went back as far as Carter.

Say what you want about any president, but you have to feel for them knowing the kind of miles being in that position puts on them.

I have to agree, it is an extremely stressful job, but they do live a very comfortable life.

Its all about tradeoffs, you give up 4-8 years of your life for "financial freedom" the rest of your life. I would never want to do it because you never know when your day is going to come and I can't justify giving away that much time for a little money.

There have been several studies done on how much presidents "age" while in office and in my opinion there isn't any amount of money worth the toll it takes on you physically. Maybe I'm too much of an idealist but i also don't think people become presidents because of the awesome $450k plus retirement you get. I'd like to think they really want to make a difference, whether it ends up good or not.

Personally, I think it's status bs nowadays. Why else would politicians tell us all this shit they're going to do when they get in office......and then not do it? Or do it in a way that benefits everyone but the common man?

Its ridiculous the amount of stress they go through, but its also ridiculous the amount they spend of the government money to go on vacation. While it might be needed badly the costs are outrageous. I just wish they could get the US back on track. Who still sees the recession that we are supposed to be out of. I do I see it everyday where I live. they should have said the recession was over for those who lived like there was no recession. Don't get me wrong though. I respect the president, but I think ive lost faith in our government....and thats sad to say....
