So I went to Gamestop again today and traded in about 15 more games lol... still about 80 to go ish. Anyways I have about 200$ on my Gamestop card. Would it even be remotely intelligent to pick up a PS3 or something along those lines? I am just curious if you guys think it's worth it anymore considering how close we most likely are to the next gen consoles. I am heavily invested in XBOX so take that into consideration as well..
Well I only use my ps3 for movies in my bedroom these days. I know there are some console specific games you might like. I moved to Xbox cause there are more guys on than ps3. The battlefield crew is pretty solid on ps3 but not on any other games really that I see.

I loved the 2 years i had just my ps3 in, but due to missing out on more guys on mw3 left me sour so I started out on both consoles and then stayed Xbox. We have a few guys who actually do like me and play both consoles and pc. I am on eve online right now even. Yeah I tried the move and it was so hard to calibrate every time you put a game in. The kinect the kids are on without my help and I have an autistic 6 yr old and 2 4 yr olds. I loved my ps3 in other clans but we seem to have more shooter players overall in Xbox.

Kant, if it was me I would wait. Its not just a matter of buying a new console, its games also, so that makes the investment even bigger. With new consoles coming out, to me its not worth it. Unless you plan on passing it down to your kids once the new consoles come out. (Some reasoning for the wife) Lol!!

Keep the credit. Gamestop does offer other things outside of getting a PS3, but getting a PS3 does have its perks. Blue Ray player is a must for me. That's why I have a PS3. Plus when you have to update your software for your Blue Ray Player, you can do so by having it connected to the net.

Pick up a low-end or refurbished PS3 just so you can play DUST514 with the corp. :-D
That's the only reason I'm considering getting one. (I'm not a console gamer. I prefer having 101+ keys & a mouse for control.)

Ultimately, do what you wanna do. But there are plenty of people who would run with you in MW3. As many as on Xbox side? Probably not, but there are still some who do. Just sayin'.
The PS3 side does have Dust 514 coming, which is going to be free-to-play. We're anticipating a pretty big turnout for that one. There are some other PS3 exclusives that are definitely worth your time too, like the God of War series, the inFAMOUS games, and my personal fave Killzone 2 & 3.
Do whatever you think my man. You can probably find a used one cheaper on Craigslist than you will at GameStop.

yeah its awesome cause it does it in the middle of the night or whenever you choose so all your updates including game patches are ready when you are. Now to be able to preorder and then it downloads mappacks while I am work would be epic

yeah. I like to order/choose a demo, game, or map packs and then the offline downloader will finish downloading when I turn it off. That is a step in the right direction but at least most xbox updates are smaller.

I would say it is all about the exclusives/blue ray player at this point. I am waiting for some price drops after the next gen comes out.

If I had 200 bones on my GS card, I'd get a gamecube for 30, a memory card, two controllers and a couple of the greatest games ever....super smash brothers, luigi's mansion, kirby, zelda, resident evil....and when youre played out on it, box it up for Kantstoppoopin'.....

I remember all the great consoles (or not so much) that I had as a kid...Jaguar, Turbografix16, NeoGeo, 3DO...I had them all...I regret always selling/trading them to get the latest or greatest, only to be stuck with common ones to pass to the kiddo's...they love them...especially the SNES and Dreamcast...but if I'd held on to them, I could still be enjoying them. I don't need HD or 2k bit console to game with the kiddos or my big bro when he visits....

And Valve are working on one too, that's probably why there is no sign of Half Life 3 yet.
