I remember it was the first console we had in my family. We were stationed in Landstuhl at the time and my dad came stateside TDY and bought one at sears and brought it home to us. Was the best thing ever considering at that time we only had AFN (1 TV channel and 1 Radio station). We kids played outside all day but in the winter you were the cool kid if you had an Atari. I also remember getting up in the middle of the night and my parents would be huddled up in front of the TV playing Space Invaders. They were playing against each other and taunting each other. It was pretty funny.
You give me the gun.....I'll give you the cornbread
I had the Atari with the keyboard built into the console and tape player programming. It still had the cartridges for games. I want to say it was the 4400
My bad the 4800

What do you mean when...it still is. One of these in good condition is worth more than any gamesystem any of us own. Try and find one that is in good shape with games...they are hard to come by. God I miss Atari...

Wow. How far systems have come. And yet, these are still just as or more addicting as the stuff we have now.
